I get to go racing this weekend !!!
My open house was rescheduled until the following weekend so...... I get to race this weekend at Maple Grove. I'm going to hit a T&T friday night to dial the car. Giving a shot at the AMI (All Motor Index Class) race on saturday. Formula will be running F/AMI with a 12.00 index. It's a run all class in 1/2 second indexes ranging from A/AMI 9.0 thur H/AMI 13.0 on a Pro .500 tree. Should be interesting launching from a pro tree.

How come you don't race in the 11.50 class? Too close to all out?

I'm more confortable deep staging, shifting at 5400, and driving the stripe. I get a nice mph at the top end related to ET and try to use it to my advantage. My setup needs to hold together for a long long time. I could run 11.50 however it would put more stress on the parts and index is just bracket racing. There's no advantage for me to run 1/2 or even a second quicker. I perfer to run 12.0 @115mph and can judge a 9.0 a car at the finish.

Hit the T&T friday night looking to run 12.00. Got 3 runs then put the car on the trailer and went home.
Run 1: -.016 RT 1.779 60' 11.998 ET 114.50 MPH
Run 2: .057 RT 1.792 60' 12.048 ET 114.09 MPH
Run 3. -.014 RT 1.790 60' 12.048 ET 114.14 MPH
I felt that I missed the tree on the second timeshot and planned to drop the launch rmp by 300 for the race on the next day. That would put my rt nicely green so I wasn't worred about the red eye. On this test and tune I was looking for a nice grouping of numbers rather than perfection. I can increase my shift points to pick up some ET to be able to run under my 12.00 index if necessary. I was feeling pretty confidant friday evening then I got the call that the race on Saturday was cancelled due to the pending rain.

The most I had to hold to run 12.0 was .6 last October at Cecil. Full weight (full tank of gas) shifting at 5400. I was lifting at the 1/8 counting to 3 mississippi's then getting back on the gas and driving the stripe (brake tapping).
A more aggressive tune with a gallon of fuel 11.20-30 at Atco in the good night air shifting at 7000. That was with a full exhaust system that has since been removed.
All on 93 octane pump gas.

So where you this weekend?????
Did you see the new payout for the 5G races, Vinnie made the top heavier. Saturday and Sunday was allot of rounds, but Monday was light. 1/4= 5th round paid $400, semis paid $800.
Next weekend we're doing a $2500 Friday ,and 5s on the weekend.

I'm still tied up with a house for sale. Work is done and house is ready for showings but now when people make appointments I have to do a quick check list and take the 2 dogs for a long car ride. I took the firebird off the trailer and put it back into the garage. Heading back to florida the end of June for 2 weeks. July will have me packing the rest of the stuff (no racing) and looks like one last trip to Florida in August. Next race for me will be mid September in Florida. I will have to learn to run 1/8 mile.
