It's really too bad more people couldn't turn out. We had a really good time. Weather was cool but otherwise fine. We met up at Camp Evens, where the southern 5th gen contingent, led by ArtfulDodger and SOPMOD, was already there and ended up in a rap video. Werd.
Then we did the cruise past the beach and down the back roads, which worked out really well. I know the area well so I've seen those back roads and the beach a zillion times, so I didn't know if this was a great idea or not. The Southern guys and a fellow in a grand national followed me, btk and phil. They said the route and the cruise was great. So I'm glad about that.
Then we got to the cruise night and the Blue Moon Kruisers knew we were coming. They got spies!
Seems some of them are members and saw one of the recent emails. They rolled out the red carpet for us. They let all of us park right up front, even those pesky late models
. They were very excited about us coming. We ended up giving the Blue Moon Kruisers $130 for their charities. So thanks to all that donated.
It must have been the day, but it was a slow night at the cruise night as well. Slowest one I ever saw there. So I took some minor solace in our weak turnout that maybe it was just a bad day. But what was great was I talked to a number of people about the club and what we do. I had a few people ask me about the Circus Meet. And was surprised that some of the folks were members. Just shows the forum is just a part of the club. It was good to hear.
However after all was said and done we had a good cruise, a good time at the cruise night, and did some good. Next year mark your calendars.
The southern guys, less Art who had to leave
On a side note, if you are near Brielle you must go to Mariner's Cove for breakfast. Best breakfast on earth.
