power window issue

2002 camaro. Been having problems with the drivers side window recently. one morning this past week it wouldn't go down at all. I kind of shook the window a bit and then it worked again...but made sort of a clicking noise up and down. today it goes down about an inch and I'd hear a buzzing noise like the regulator is getting caught on something and the window stops. is this the telltale sign for these cars that the motor / regulator took a dump or could the problem be more simple than that. I hear the motor trying to work just hear that buzzing noise and it stops. thanks.

Jon

Kinda tough to diagnose without hearing it but it could be the motor slipping on the regulator or slipping internally. I had that happen on one of mine. If you have the cash, spring for an ac delco new motor. They have worked the best for me.

thanks for your reply adam. yeah it was a weird buzzing noise..kind of like the sound game shows make when someone gets a question wrong or their time to answer a question is up. you know what im talking about?

i tried to open it again today and there was no buzz but it just was silent and wouldnt go down. im just going to assume the motor took a dump...ill replace it sometime soon.

Hahahha that is a weird noise. You could take the door panel off and test for power on either wire. One has power going up, the other has power going down. Check out shbox.com for a replacement write up.
