I toned it down a little bit, I really think this can work.
Also shaved the door handles, rear marker lights, lowered it some more, ditched the exhaust tips & made it a Targa top, because I can

Still don't feel like gold/silver go together. IMO these cars look better with tips. Unless you go the boom tube route like you talked about.
However, the rest of the car looks great, targa looks great.
You know what'd look even better? A convertible

Personally, I'm not a fan of silver and gold together. Can you try leaving the gold rims, and doing the car either white or maroon? I think either of those colors will look awesome with the gold.

Jake, I have imagination, but my mind always goes to this guy when I see that color combo.
I know it works on certain things - plenty of jewelry designers mix white and yellow gold, and one of my trumpets is silver with some gold accents, but I'm not feeling it on a car. IMO, that Porsche would look better with gunmetal spokes instead of gold.
Edit: IMO, white and gold look much better.

I just think its the actual color that is throwing the combo off. In the other photos it looks good.

Yup. The wheels look greenish in his photoshop. And Steve, I agree completely with what you posted, but I think silver and gold can look good too. I actually thought about running it before when I saw a guy on LS1tech put bronze wheels on his silver vette, I'll look for the pics.
Got it:

^ VOLK te-37's are very expensive due to their lightweight. A nice rim but imo more reserved for imports. The biggest things now are powercoating. If i was to redo the rims on my vette, black centers and body colored lips almost gives the illusion of having no centers at all. Thats my deal on my next car, powercoating all the way. Your car though man so your choice obviously. I had those y2k vette rims when i bought my vette and couldn't get rid of them..finally sold for $400..were the polished ones.
