Bolts go, "Bye-bye!"

Pretty sure we removed a total of 8 motor mount bolts, but when re-installing the motor to the new cradle/K-member, we only found 6 of those bolts. Now, I'm fairly certain that we kept them in the same place, so I don't know w-t-f happened there.

Car is a 2000 T/A (...err.. sorta )
  1. There should be 8 bolts total, right?
  2. Are all 8 bolts the same length?
  3. If so, and if I can't find the other 2, what should I ask for at the hardware store? I believe the motor mount bolts have a shoulder. Bolt size & shoulder length.
  4. I'm going to try my local place first, but I'm not holding my breath. Anyone have two spare stock ones laying around?

Ultimately, I guess I could just undo one of the 6 bolts and start driving around the county with it until I find a match... But hopefully can get some luck here before going that inconvenient route.

Almost there. Just hoping the little things don't plague me.

Mike, are you talking about the bolts bolting the mount to the engine, or the pedestal to the k-member? Regardless, I believe it is 8 total for both.

Look around again for the bolts, I'm sure they will turn up. I thought I lost my header bolt last week, it ended up being below my magnetic dish, instead of on it. It has to be there and it sure beats spending money for what's already in your bay most likely.

Jake,
I meant the bolts that mount to the actual K-member.

But I had to stop by the parts store to pick up some header paint & diff gasket anyway, so I just ordered two new bolts. They'll be here tomorrow by lunch. A drop in the bucket, at this point, and beats digging around in 85* heat.

I'm sure I'll need more miscellaneous bolts as reassembly continues though

I have baggies. Build began as organized; individual baggies, labels, and taped down. However, "The Guys" don't like using them very much.

That's how it always happens. It's part of the process, I say.

From the pictures, I want to say yes. But wanted to double-check with those who know first-hand.

Thanks!

Found them today. Couldn't believe where they were.

Left it in place, as the new MM bolts I purchased were already fastened down.
