You met Grazi too. Nice meeting you by the way.

Cool Thanx, exhaust is growing on me. I think I'm losing my posi. Last 2 runs only passenger tire spun on burnout. Been happening here and there on the street this month. Time to pull open the 10 bolt......

If it was I inadvertently met him. I was wondering what the setup was on there and turned out it was a stocker with a slushbox and sticky tires.

I had the GTA, ran 14.9 best, blew the tires off on another run and 15 flats for the other two. That is with really no launching to speak of, I tried the one time and blew the tires off. Didn't want to push my luck with a fresh bottom end. If I break it in further and actually get the launch down I may have run mid 14s. But I was happy, it was right where it should have been. Met Paul there as well. Had a nice chat with him. Great guy. We both expected to see at least like 8 F bodies in the parking lot so we were surprised.
Definitely a disappointing turnout - considering how many people signed up; but it is a hike for most anyone in NJ.

Brought the new GTA I picked up Wednesday with a set of black CTW wheels on it.

Ya, pretty weak if you ask me. I figured if 20 said they were definite, maybe 10 would show up but i think there was only 5 or 6. Paul did you have the white 3rd gen TA with black wheels parked in the grass?

I couldn't make it due to car issues that popped up a day or two prior. I would have loved to go, but running the car when I have odd things going on with a vibration is a good way to break things.

Ah, saw it parked in the grass when we left. Looked real clean.

Best way to break it in. Run it like you stole it.

Nothing wrong with breaking in a new motor at the track. There is, however, everything wrong with running a car that was previously vibration free, and suddenly developed a driveline vibration.

I'm going to swap in my spare LT1 steel driveshaft, see if the vibration goes away. Next up would be swapping on my stock wheels (stock size tire/drag radial out back) to see if that does it. If both of those fail, I guess I'm opening my diff up to see what may have happened there.

Oh I won't argue that. In fact I wouldn't have run it either with a vibration. I was just giving you grief, mainly due to the low turn out of at most 6 people out of what seemed like 20 signups.

As for breaking in the motor....I left the place (leaving island road turning onto 46) in a screaming from dead stop powerslide. So yes I run it easy, and I run it hard. I do know I left some on the table, with the launches and the fact that I didn't manually shift the car going down the track. (If I had I probably would have locked up the brakes and spun because the left foot would have went for a clutch) I've been trying to figure out the RPMs that won't overwhelm the tires on loading up the converter while using the foot brake. I know its quicker.

I've got an LT1 driveshaft laying around as well if you want to try another one providing your spare still vibrates and nothing else is wrong. I could bring it down for ya.

I felt bad missing this, but I felt like crap all day. I was looking forward to running 17s too...

L695speed - Thanks for the offer. Once I swap out the one in the car and test it, if the vibration is still present, then I'm on to the wheels. If I swap the wheels and tires out and it still does it, then it *has* to be the Moser axles I installed recently... Although I'd *swear* I took the car on the highway after I installed them and it was fine. Guess I'm going to find out.
