Solid/Mechanical Roller questions

Someone talked me into going with a bigger converter since my Camaro isn't going to see a huge amount of street driving (under 1,000 a year). Decided I want to experiment with a solid roller cam (.570"/.576" 242/248 duration 110 LSA Comp Cams Part# 12-771-8). Going in a 355 with a set of Trick Flow Super 23 195cc heads and backed by a 3,000-3,500ish nitrous converter/trans braked TH400 and 12 bolt with 4.10s. Figure that should propel a gutted 1st gen down the track in the low 11 second area.

What is the difference in valve springs for a hydraulic vs solid cam? These heads came from TFS and I was told are good for .600" lift on a hydraulic roller cam; what about a solid roller? How can I obtain the specs on the springs in these heads?
Never purchased a set of lifters with link bars (retrofit rollers); what's the difference between vertical and horizontal link bars?
What in the world is with these offset lifters that I'm seeing on solid/mechanical lifter applications?

It takes SR and offset rockers, but limited by a .600 lift... to run 11s?

Seems like a huge waste of time and money.

I wouldn't dick with a solid roller unless you really need one. If you go for it anyway, and are going to street the car, get the HIPPO or equivalent lifters.
