Any Dodge/Chrysler techs?

My friend is having an issue with his 08 Chrsyler 300. It has a 2.7 V6 and from what I have gathered it is a 42rle trans. He has no 3rd gear and also has a p0733 for incorrect 3rd gear ratio. When he drives down the road it will go into second and will not shift beyond that, reverse still works also.

I have experience with transmissions although most of it is with GM stuff. I also do not have a scan tool that is able to read live data on Chrysler products.

Are there any common causes of this code/issue that are easily resolved in the pan or valve body or is this usually a result of an internal failure?

The PDF I found does list the solenoid/pressure switch assembly as one of the possible causes. Just trying to gather as much information as I can before I get into it tomorrow.

That was easy, pulled the pan and there was a large chunk of metal sitting there and the fluid looks like a metal shaving milkshake.
