They've been around for a while, and like everything else catered to the "slammed" scene, they cost an exorbitant amount.

True. They run around 12k not including tax and delivery. A compareable full deck open trailer will run 3200 plus or minus.
My enclosed was a couple grand cheaper then that.. but I still scrape my airdam no matter how high I crank the jack

Its good if you have the money to burn or have a car low enough that you can't get it up any incline without scraping. Other than that its way overkill

Great idea... but overkill

I wonder if the air bags would cause the trailer to sway any from being too softly sprung. I've never messed with air bags, but I imagine it wouldn't be as sturdy as the conventional leaf springs.
I'm just imagining all that weight suspended on air bags and the sensation of towing that behind the VW Touregs and BMW X5s that they are likely to be attached to.

It wouldnt sway just because of the airbags. Theres a reason a lot of medium and heavy duty trucks (and trailers) use air ride suspension.
Trailer gvw vs towing vehicles capacity, tongue weight, load center of gravity and weight distribution are factors in the stability of the trailer

I see. You are right, I often see air bags on tractor trailers.

This is correct and they have been using them for a long time. Its mostly for ride quality. Trucks and trailers using conventional springs is a really rough ride

I think this is more for the wow factor. Like you have a slammed out show car and you want a cool piece to go with it.
