4cyl turbo swap?
Its silly but kinda cool. I was thinking... put a 2.0L LNF in a 3rd gen.
the lnf is the sky redline/ solstice gxp turbo engine, makes 260/260 stock, and around 290/315 with GM stage 2 tune. fwd versions were in the cobalts and hhr SS. but only the skys and gxps were rwd with a 6spd(i think) auto.
i had an 08 SKY redline with the tune, hard IC piping, bigger IC, gmpp air intake, and magnaflow catback. thing was fast and fun.
...so why not? it would be light and more powerful than the stock tpi engines. the whole direct injection and wiring compatibility would be the headaches to overcome.

LNF : 307 lbs for engine then 50 lbs for turbo, piping, IC.
So about 360lbs total.
LS1 : just north of 400lbs they say

Not sure it's worth the effort for a 40 lb weight savings only to make less power than a stock LS1.

thats the other thing, ls1 could be made as a bolt in by getting the right k member etc.
The LNF would be all custom. but i found an LNF motor/trans for what people get for a LS1 engine

im still hoping for an ls swap but just thinking of alternate ideas.

Idea man II.
If you are talking about a 3rd gen Pontiac, stuff a real Pontiac engine in and throw a turbo on that.

With some money spent, you could have the 2.0T making over 500hp.
But for less, you could have a 500hp Gen III/IV.

A 2.0 turbo motor would be a good swap for a road course/handling car. With a dry sump set up and such a narrow package you could get the engine low and pulled way back in the car.
I think it would be an interesting swap.
