Roll Cage is in

So I took my ride to Azevedo Motorsports in Linden NJ to get my roll cage done. A lot more then I wanted to spend, but I also wanted it done right the 1st time. A few pics.

Lol the roll bar ran me 2200 total install and painted. And it is bolt in so I can remove it if needed. I'm waiting to get my new bumper built so it will hit the track after that.

Bar looks like it fits like a glove, and the car looks great on the inside!

Just making sure though- you didn't pay for an NHRA/sanctioning body legal roll bar, right?

AJ I'd be concerned about the seat belt mounting. That could be a recipe for spinal compression with the rear belt mounts going straight down.

I really don't want to rain on the parade 2 big things i notice is the harness bar is way to low. you do not want your seat belts pulling down on your shoulders, compressing your spine when something bad happens. The main hoop is way to close to your head / seat top.

It's not done yet I'm waiting on the new harnesses still and will be put on correctly. That's just how they were put on before the roll bar.

If main hoop was farther it would sit below the top of my head. The purpose of the roll bar so you don't crush your head. I don't know the specs but this is built to what the Texas mile requires. Once the right harness and the pads are in it should be fine.

These seats are freaking huge in this car and sits high up due to the adapters on the bottom of the seats. So that makes the bar look really tight. I'm going to get rid of these seats soon anyways.

Yes can be removable or a combination of welded and removable. Proper points specific to the vehicle must be used. For the f-body rear point was located at the sail panel area. Which sucks now I have to build new sail panels as my show ones with tv screens can no longer be used.

Hey if it works for what you need, great. Like pointed out though, there's a few issues with it.

Not sure the rules you need to follow but it wouldn't pass NHRA standards. Door bars are supposed to be level with the top of your shoulder so the bar passes midway between the bicep. The rear cross bar behind the seats should be the same height as stated but can be a maximum of 4" lower.

Cage came out very nicely though and if it's good for what you need, perfect!
