Swap pics
Thought some might be interested in the short picture story that has been my LS swap into my GMT400.
Bought it like this, little over a year ago. Lots of shoddy welding and work in general. Motor ran decent probably made just under 400hp.
Was always planning on some sort of fuel injection. Was caught between doing a 396 small block and Holley dominator TBI or just jumping on the LS bandwagon. I found a really good deal on a 120k 5.3 w/ accessories and harness/ECM for $700 and just went for it. Was going to go the turbo route but decided for a DD Id just do a nice NA build.
Freshness.
Clearanced the crossmember and made the motor mounts. Sits about 4-5in lower than swap mounts.
As it sits.
Waiting on wiring harness. Just buttoned up the exhaust.

They are proforms.
Trucks somewhat straight but loaded with half ass body work from the PO. Its next on the list once its running and driving just a day here day there kinda thing. Truck is going to be platidipped gunmetal gray w/ a semi gloss finish and flat black stripes. Not going for a nicer paint job simply because its going to be my DD and Im no paint guy. I want something I can reshoot if it gets ****ed up in a parking lot.
Im keeping the front end blacked but the bumper is going to be gunmetal. Basically going for a mimic of a first gen camaro front end with hideaways.

Nice work. How much more work does it need to be ready for the track?
