trans issues

Finally got everything buttoned up on the engine swap/build, started it today sounds and runs great. Problem is with the trans now. When i get the linkage hooked up where its supposed to be and run through the gears from park to 1st everything shifts fine, however when i try to go from 1st back to park while the shift lever inside moves the linkage will not move the gear on the tranny. Am i overlooking something simple or do i have bigger issues??

It doesn't move at all? There is a small lock for minor adjustment but I don't think it would cause no movement.

This is with the car off and ignition on, it will go through all gears park, reverse, neutral, od, d, 2nd, 1st....but going back the other way wont move the gear on the tranny at all, but gear selector will move inside the car

Take the linkage off the tranny and see if you can switch gears on the trans. If so then its somewherw under the console
