So I did a thing...

I sold my G5 for $4800 and picked up a 09 SS Sedan for $5000. I think it's a good swap

139k miles, fully loaded. Yes, it's a turbo

Moon roof, posi, iPod head unit.... Etc. Etc.

Only mod it has is K&N intake.

Just needs a little maintenance and it's all gud. Boost is fun.

Here is my cobaltSS.net post...

I hear those are fun cars with some nice potential. Any issues or just needs basic maintenance? When does the boost get bumped?

Yeah I threw my g5 up for sale when I saw this one. Much more fun lol, surprised I sold my g5 for so much.

The blue is super pretty. When does it build full boost? I'm new to boost bahaha. It starts pretty low maybe 3500-4k? Gets to 18-20psi

Needs rear brakes, shifter (reverse lockout is busted so have to "hunt" for 5th), 2 tires, and an axle.

Oh lolol. Well, since it's a daily.... Not sure when especially with 140k. I was thinking exhaust/IC then up the boost

EDIT:
Currently Ordered:
BPS Short Throw Shifter (to fix reverse lockout/5th gear issue)
Hawk HPS rear pads/oem rotors
Timing chain/balance shaft kit (cars are notorious for bad tensioners, not risking it)
Waiting to pick up a set of D2S retrofitted headlights...pretty much same price as the HID kit from TRS! (sorry brian lolol)
2 GM OEM front axles

I was curious, so I Google'd...

1/4 mile in 13.9
0-60 in 5.5
2L Turbo
4 piston Brembos

That's a lot of bang for your buck for a $5k DD that can still seat 5 & fly under the radar.

Yeah the 4 door is much better than my 2door G5, especially as a daily. Sure is nice to just open the back door to throw stuff in, instead of having to tilt my seat, etc.

The boost is sweet too

If your going to up the boost just do the gm stage one kit for it. My buddy started with that on his 08 hhr ss and then went up to 28lbs before it decided to drink all the coolant.

I see... is that just a map sensor and a tune? lol

Yes its just a sensor and a tune. You need to run 91+ octane to be "safe". the benefit of the tune is that it allows for other hp increasing mods. The stock tune, with say a cai or exhaust, will supposedly start pulling power after a short period of time, close to stock levels. So any mods then would eventually become pointless. The stage 2 tune does not revert back and will allow sustained power gains from other bolt-ons. I had an '08 saturn sky redline. Stock it wasn't bad. But i did the gm tune, larger intercooler, hard ic piping, and catback exhaust. Car was so much more fun.

Fuel Door has premium recommended. I put nothing but 92-93 in it. I heard about the "learndown" method, so I am going to do it all at once, at some point.

Yeah. I wanted to learn and see how tuning works because that is one of the few things I don't know also, if I do upgrade to LS1 PCM on my car I can use it
