WRAP lower rear Bumper Black on my 1994 25th T/A

Was looking at a LOT of 2002 yellow Trans Am's with the lower bumper area painted flat black. I saw a thread where ceta TA did his own car with plastic spray and it looks OK. I would like to know if anybody has a connection for doing this with a WRAP. Paint is out of the question, as it would require redoing the entire rear bumper IF I really didn't like the outcome.

They're doing some pretty cool things with plastidip nowadays... something to think about.

Wrapping will be tough to make the edges look good. Plastidip is your best bet or buy another bumper?

I think this was a standard thing on a CETA TA. I would try out plasti-dip, easy to use, easy to reverse. tape off the areas you want to cover and spray, just remember to peel off the tape before it dries so you get nice crisp lines.

What about doing it in blue to match the graphics instead of black? Ceta trans ams have black graphics so the rear bumper blends better. I think a blackout on a white/blue car would look a little odd.

Buy a spare white bumper and paint that. Keep your original one untouched.

NOOOOoooo, thanks for the photo, but is looks added on. The Matte Black Wrap has a factory look to it. There is a place that does REALLY high end work for MAJOR companies and they say no job it to small. Their name is SPEEDPRO.com and they are right here in Piscataway. I have watched pros do sports cars with angles and corners, that with the right amount of heat, they can bend the material to any shape you want. Some wraps even have VERY small pinholes in the material to let the air bubbles bleed out. Of course now we are awaiting 15 feet of snow, so the Bird has to stay in its cage for a few more months.

My bumper is already F'd up so I just taped it off and spray bombed it. I like the way it turned out. I don't think vinyl is the way to go, I'll second plasti-dip but you really need to coat that stuff on thick.

Mine is wrapped as well as the rest of the car. The crease is a Bitch to do where the black will turn into the body color. But I successfully wrapped in 1 piece the curves to the back of the license plate. Your looking at around 30 bucks in vinyl If you use quality stuff. You might as well just paint it. I'm personally not a fan of plastic dip. I don't like the texture.

I would paint it, but it is a showcar and IF somewhere down the road I might sell it, I would need to repaint the ENTIRE rear bumper. I think a quality high end WRAP store could do the work and if I ever want to remove it, it comes off with no damage to the paint.
