american racing wheels

after tax season i have a few extra bucks coming my way to play with. id like to bang out all cosmetics odds and ends with the car before the season starts. my black zr1's are starting to show their age. i was looking at new wheels.

i cream my pants every time i see ccw's or welds on fbodies but they are way out of my budget. i'm looking at decent middle of the road type wheel, weight doesn't matter to me.

i like the look of the torque thrust m's on fbodies. id go with black. and hope for it to look something like this

i just wanted to get njfboa's thoughts...are there better wheels out there for the price? do you think tt2's or ttm's are overplayed on these cars? are there other wheels out there i should look into that fall into the ttm wheel price category? also if you have or have had these wheels were or are you happy with your purchase? thanks in advance.

I never was a big fan of those wheels on a Fbody, I always get that style was more at home on a mustang.

I too love CCWs and Fikses and ect, but they are pricey. But don't forget, our cars have the same lug pattern as BMWs. Maybe look into BBS, Avante Gaurde, Rotiform and other popular BMW wheels. I've seen some Fbods on them and they look great.

MyFirstZ had the TTMs before he got his Weld RT-S wheels. Personally, I think they looked great on his black 4th Gen SS. Heck, they even look great in your OP pic.

In my opinion you should get them.

PS-
Fun fact: he sold them to someone with a black Formy.

+1, they look better on a mustang.

Why not check out the new vette wheels on Oewheels?

yeah i hear with the tt2's and the ttm's get called mustang wheels a lot. the pictures don't do them justice though they look great in person.

thor i was tossing around the ideas of new vette wheels. the ones you posted don't have a lip so i'm not too big a fan of them. i was looking at these though. i haven't seen them on an fbody yet though so who knows how it will look.

Really liked mine but needed to change it up when I got my welds.

Gunmetal instead of black I think is a nicer combo.

Sold the ones I had to a buddy with a black formula.

heres a car on a set of wheels that are typically found on European cars. Tires are off, need a bigger sidewall, but you get the idea.

they look pretty similar to forgestars for about half, if not less, the price. And this particular brand holds up well. I had them on my S4

pic of forgestars for reference.

Forgestars aren't even expensive. And at least you can get them in 5x4.75.

Im used to buying $400 sets of ZR1 wheels or 10 spokes lol $1,500 a set is pretty pricey for me.

Yup, they're MiRos. We have a lot of customers that run them. Seem to hold up pretty well
