Exhaust Shop Help
Ok, i know i can search threads and theres prob a ton for exhaust installs but recent experiences and reviews tend to change opinions. Looking for a good exhaust shop to weld up my 3" xpipe, mufflers and rear axle dump setup. Went to a shop with good reviews in PA this morning only to find out its no longer in business. Went from there over to Fuccellos in Trenton only to be told its not possible to put a 3" true dual setup on a 4th gen (obviously this is bs but didnt feel like dealing with someone that obviously doesnt want to do the work). So where do i go from here??? Headers to turn downs sounds good to me but dont want to drawl unwanted attention plus its a tad loud.

http://www.16w.biz/ (will be pricey)
IMO, sell x pipe stuff, buy a catback with cutout, and enjoy.
[thats coming from someone who has had both]

If you aren't looking to go over the axle I don't see what the big deal is as far as fabrication is concerned. I'd also suggest Mufflex.

Did they tell you no because you are removing the cats? A lot of places might tell you that.

No, nothing about the cats being gone, just said it doesnt fit and would have to run 2 inch without the x pipe and id have to relocate all my wiring and fuel lines before they would install it

Could show them a picture of what you want replicated. There are plenty of examples online. But I'm with UBG--find any shop with a welder and tell them to have at it. This one isn't all that demanding.

Yeah im not asking anyone to do anything crazy with it i was just caught off guard when i was told flat out it couldnt be done, knowing very well that it could. Just figured id reach out before taking another pointless drive to a shop that didmt feel like getting paid

The place that rigged up my quiet catted x pipe was a Meineke Center in Colonia NJ. Believe the owner was Bryan and he did it for a few hundred IIRC.
The trickiest part and you touched on it, was the "frame" rail driver side where the fuel and brake lines run. You will need to dimple the exhaust pipe in a large area to clear this and most places do not have the means to do that. If you look at any ORY for LT headers they all have that flat spot placed in them to clear.
If you do go this route, have some form of quick connect at the header, either V bands, or flanges and again at the rear half by the mufflers.
Be prepared for crappy ground clearance and a smelly/loud car. Also, if you ever want a chassis mounted torque arm, you won't be able to run an X pipe.
Hate to be a broken record, but just be aware of what you are getting into.

I used the Summit X kit on a few cars with good results.

Dont worry about sounding like a broken record, i appreciate all the input. Ive accepted the ground clearance issue and the smelly/loud issue, well, ive had open headers with turndowns for the past 4 months so anything will be better than that at this point. V bands are already holding the turndowns on and i plan on keeping them in that place just in case i change things in the future. Ill find a shop eventually that wants to do the work
