A trans swap makes for a more fun ride, but it's a bit of a challenge getting all the parts together. Could always move forward with other plans, and do a torque converter/shift kit if the transmission is shifting fine.

New suspension made the whole car handle so much better and killed that gap in the back. Lowering ftw just nothing over 1.2"

Not going stupid low. 1". Look better with no major issues. Dropped looks great but I'm not dealing with those problems. Wheels were/are on the list.

I have no intention of doing a TC, and it already has a shift kit.

Is this because you intend to go T56 soon, or did your ex leave you for a torque converter? confused.

Because I'm not spending any money on the 4l60e. Either I'm trans swapping the car, selling it or having some sort of come to jesus moment that would change my mind.
I have no desire to drive automatics any more than I have to. I'm looking to get a stick midsize 2wd worktruck when I eventually replace mine. I'd only driven stick periodically but after my Colorado I legitimately enjoyed driving it and it was slow as a dog. I'm not a drag racer so I have no need for an auto.

IMO, find a car with a t56 already as a donor. like one with body damage or a crappy motor. Take the parts you need, sell of the rest. That's the cheapest way to get a t56 and all the needed parts.

Update:
!frontplate
Front bumper repainted
Still need ideas on what wheels to get. My tires are pretty old despite a lack of UV damage and use, so this may be sooner than anticipated. Not locked into OEM wheels. 17" is my first preference but would do 18 if a great deal came along in something that looked good.
Also thoughts on smoked vs clear corners/markers?
