the kid didn't build the car, he bought it the way it sits right now not too long ago. he doesnt know much about cars. granted, its a friendly bet but i wanna kick his ass regardless.
not to mention the kid just bought the car so he probably cant drive it too well. since my 13.2 run i have ported the throttle body, got the spec 3 and flywheel, and dumped those dopey 19s

hey I didnt say I was doing a full tune for him or anything, simple stuff only takes a few minutes & I've already got Jakes file so it's not like it'll take more then 25 or 30 seconds to plop in the file
Im a tuner at heart that won't die...I love playing with files/software/hardware/beta testing/helping/whatever

lol thanks bill and tim for the help but it doesnt look very necessary.
ok i saw the car today...
the car has a almost stock sized cam in it, 3.50 gears, and no tune. the car couldnt hold idle for some reason and was spewing out black smoke. it gave me a good chuckle when i realized the car couldnt make it out of the driveway. i asked him if he still wanted to race but he changed his mind and said maybe in the spring when he gets a tune and some more bolt ons and gets it running right. this whole story makes me sick

its a 306, so its not a 4.6
|
+1
The 302 (and it's derivitives) are very nasty little enignes. with an overbore, heads (you know he has a cam) and intake I've seen them pushing low 12's high 11's in the older cars. So watch your back. Granted it is an SN95, which is heavier, but if he gets his bugs worked out he will be a major threat. I've learned humility against some low dollar, N/A 302's (again in a fox body, mostly LX's) with my car so don't get too cocky.

on the street. i saw a cammed 306 notch go against my buddies 90' gt (cam, ported stock heads, bolt ons and both of em on drag radials- my buddy runs 13.6 @ 99 or 100 they were damn near even, if not, the notch being half a car length ahead
then i raced my buddie and raped his car, and then the kid in the notch broke his clutch cable so i never did get to run him....

96 was the first year of the 4.6 sohc in mustangs & they were junk. Not that other years were much better but 96's were known to be complete dogs.
