Well for anyone who was on the fence about coming here or not I suggest that if you like 6, 7, 8, 9 second drag cars ... you should come here. The show field is only about 25 cars (so far) but there are some serious drag cars here. Just a mere moment ago a black camaro ran a 7.34 e.t Great weather too I'm taking photos and will upload them to an album another day

I had a great time today and it was nice chatting with fellow forums members. Cars looked great too. It was a blast to finally run the Z at any track. I fully expected to be sitting in the mid 11s but was shocked at a 11.05 @ 124.49. It later trapped a high of 127.49. It will go 10s as it sits with better air and less gas in the tank. I came back to the show and took home a trophy as well. Just a great day.

I had a blast. was a great ride down there in the morning and there were some awesome drag cars. was cool to meet 6spdg37s and his buddy with the black fbody too. they made some good passes and I got videos of them and Brian on the track. I will upload those later to an album and share the link. Lots of clean runs. I stayed until around 4:00

I do wish the show field had more cars; I've been to etown sometimes where that whole big partitioned parking lot area is filled end to end with show cars. Possibly the low turnout was due to this being the same weekend as the wild Ocean City maryland event? Had a great time, went the LOOONG way on the way home just to have an hour extra seat time in the car. Hopefully tonight I'll get those photos/videos up after work.

Glad we ran into each other and looking forward to the vids. The yellow C5 I raced was quite the "sleeper". He dialed 11.5 but ended up running 11.05. The whole time I'm thinking how the hell is he staying ahead that far. The black C6 that knocked me out was pretty badass. The Z was def impacted by lack of a complete cool down as the mph dipped a couple to 122 in the 2 later runs.

I never spun once. These tires actually grab pretty good (I pick up all the stones under normal driving conditions). I'm pretty pleased all things considered. The launch technique recommended is an idle punch although I feel like the computer smooths the throttle opening. I had the PDR working for a few runs so I will see how it registers. I got 3 time trial runs and then 2 more as I went into the semi finals.

I assume yours was the one with the muffler delete? I would have made a point to chat with you and say hello if I had known.

Yeah, and I forgot to take the clamp off before I got there lol

They were not hanging too even so I thought no exhaust would have looked better than lopsided!

the show car field could really should have had 100 more cars in it. I did NOT deserve to win the award I ended up getting.

try to watch the videos on a real computer with real speakers (not a cell phone) to appreciate the power and intensity

Recognized quite a few cars from those pics! Did you guys get to stop and talk to Nick (aka "RockBox" on here)? He has the pewter WS6 with the air brush work and the "EXTINCT" license plate. He's usually at Chatterbox too.

Great pics and vids! I tossed a few vids on youtube yesterday. I tried to put the PDR vids into the main one but for some reason the GoPro software kept removing the sound during conversion.

A few notes:

- You can see in the PDR vids where I go WOT but the car has a slight delay. I'm thinking it's torque management since traction control was off and the car is not spinning. It screwed with my reaction time quite a bit.

- I think the owner of the yellow vette was dyslexic since he dialed at 11.50 but ran a 11.05. I was wondering how the hell we was out on me so far lol.

- The black vette was badass and has gone 9s. He was having issues so he dialed up to a 10.50 to play cat and mouse.

- I didn't realize this until viewing the PDR vids but the car knew it was at etown and adjusted the overlay accordingly. Really really cool detail.

What is the deal with the PDR? How did it work with the gopro? How close were the 1/4 times compared to what your time slips said?

The PDR stands for performance data recorder. It does not work with the gopro and is a standalone piece behind the rear view mirror. I said the vids pulled from the PDR did not convert properly and lost sound when put through the GoPro software to create one video. The 1/4 miles times per the PDR were slower than the timeslips by about 1 to 2 tenths. It's GPS based I think so I'm not surprised they are off a touch. Going off memory but the runs for the day were: 11.05, 11.16, 11.08, 11.10, 11.20. MPH dropped on the last two runs to around 122/123 likely due to lack of a full cool down. Earlier runs were 124.5, 127.5 and 124.5.

Car had over a 3/4 tank of gas () and a couple items in the trunk that could have been shed. Tire pressure wasn't touched since it wasn't spinning. I need to find the trick to launching it harder. I will wait for a track rental in the fall at atco.

On stock tires, best I could do at a etown T&T was 11.8 @ 123 ice skating. Best run on DRs and splash of race gas was 10.83 @ 127 at atco at the rental. The vette also doesn't need a new rear, driveshaft or hub bearings yet lol.

Ohhh the camera is in the car, I thought it was overlayed in gopro vids. Derp. I don't think its gps based, more likely through vehicle speed sensors. I wonder if the timer starts when you hit the throttle, it would help confirm the delay and explain the higher et since you haven't tripped the beams yet.....
