For now, just wanna drive it and enjoy crusing again. Big change from a 3/4 ton diesel to this, even babying it around.

I will be getting a bar, and harness prior to fall. But thats where I draw the line, won't be 100% "legal"

What would be missing from '100% legal'? How quick/fast do you expect to run?

+135mph is cage vs roll bar.

Pretty sure there are other odds and ends

Yeah, 135mph trap speed triggers the same equipment as running 8.50-9.99. So cage, full suit, all the SFI rated doo-dads..........the whole pile. I can see not wanting to endure the expense and have it reduce the ability to comfortably cruise the car.

Would it be fairly simple, like pulling a little boost and fuel, to slow the car down to under the trap speed trigger? Or is the combo specific to the point that tuning the car down would be a gigantic PITA?

Eh, why bother?

Would rather be a 1/8 bandit and just sail under the exact rulings. Theoretically the car can't go faster than 143mph, so not terribly concerned with that aspect of the NHRA rules.

Update for the thread:

Leaned out WOT AFR's from last year, and picked up ~5psi this year.

Big thanks to BLS for all the help

Congrats once again. It was fun being there and not having to be nervous for a change.

I was nervous about the leaking pan too. Glad it was only that and didn't ruin the day.

Been running around with a dumped exhaust but TS rules says I need a muffler but do not specifiy a dB rating so, say hello to this "muffler"

Actually has toned the exhaust pretty well IMO, less sharp pitched barks and a deeper tone at idle, could all be in my head

Spent the morning slowly pulling the hotside and top end apart today

I think I got lucky and caught this early

All the familar places :/

Compression test has so far checked out decent, I did that before just ripping it apart. Gotta get the battery charged back up and I'll finish that up.

Small update, decided to take a perfectly fine dash, and cluster out of car in lieu of going off into uncharted waters...

It actually works

And of course LS1 dash made this possible

At this point, the car is mostly LS1 with a slight drizzle of SBC mixed with an LT1 water pump.
