Yea much less difficulty getting a +7k lb truck with +600tq to run slow, than say a similarly powered Fbod.

As I said, valve seals need to be done, I have them I just need to do the job. I wanted to be sure it wasn't the bottom end causing the smoke before getting into what was a very clean set of heads. If I do the seals before the meet, it will see the track if the motor has enough mileage on it. If the motor doesn't have enough mileage on it, I'm not tracking it period. But I had it at Cops and Rodders in Hackettstown, which is over 30 miles round trip. Ran all the way down and back with hardly any complaints. In fact it romped up 517 at 60 til we ran into traffic. I don't see a reason why I shouldn't have it there after that. Unless by some miracle the 84 is done. I'll definitely do the seals this winter though. It won't be driven much then.

Just a helmet?

Pants (jeans are fine) and a helmet that fits the DOT requirements would be good enough for you. Power adder cars need a firesuit.
Roll cage/bars based on ET
There are more rules but those are the basics.

Not true good sir. You do not need the full suit (jacket, pants, shoes). You just need the jacket unless you are running pretty fast (pretty sure its 10.0 but dont quote me on that).
Also any cars/trucks that come from the factory with a turbo/blower and are still using that factory part do not need the jacket...

I might be down if I have the bird ready. If not I do need to see what time I could get with the new jeep.

I tailored the rules for this forum specifically. None of our f-bodies (nobody has a ZL1 or turbo t/a that they're bringing) came with a power adder, thus the need for firegear.

Yes but occasionally then run out. Probably not the case on Saturdays though. More of a Friday/Sunday thing.
