So I may or may not have ordered a 1" lift spacer for the front and the metal skid plates that are on the ZR2...

Nice. Not in the firehouse today, took the day off because it's my daughter's birthday.

So I may or may not have received said ZR2 skid plates and 1" lift for the front of the truck, and I may or may not be installing it tomorrow...

It'll be like Schrodinger's Cat! Except it's a truck. And in my driveway, not a box.

I may or may not have just finished.
A little chilly when I started:
Stock Compare Pics:
A little bit taller:
A little more protected:
Now to source an alignment.
The difference isn't as subtle as I thought it would be but I'm OK with that. Lift is right around 1.25" in the front, so there's still a little rake but that's OK; I use my truck like a truck from time to time.

I fumble-fingered the image links, now working.
In the spirit of the original pic when I got it home, here's a 'what it looks like now':

GM factory rake is a way of life. The lift is subtle but looks good.

Nick: I know. Seriously considering a set of Goodyear Duratracs for it.
BMX: My future forecasting device tells me that I may or may not be talking myself into tires sooner than later.

I was sitting here, bored and wondering what I was going to do about the chrome stuff on my truck, and the bright yellow chevy emblems.
Chevy makes blacked out emblems, but that's $$ than can be better used elsewhere.
Then I remembered that I have a roll of carbon fiber vinyl wrap that I got for something else a few years ago, put on a shelf and promptly forgot about.
I dug it out. Wanted to try a bit of it on *something*. Looked around and found my key fob.
Considering that this took me all of 3.43 minutes, I think it turned out OK. A little heat from a blow dryer helped with the curves and some quick work with a semi-dull razor knife dressed up the edges.
Should work OK on the emblems, I think. Definitely going to plasti-dip the chrome badges. I have black and gunmetal plasti-dip, can't find anthracite around here.

That came out great, I'm in love with the 3M Carbon Fiber wrap, I still have a roll in the closet. I might pick up some similar black to do my mirrors on my Silverado, I hate chrome.
