I believe he needs 10.88 to claim the record

99% sure that he's the fastest Targa top. FRCs are lighter and i believe the record is lower.

Previous Record was set by a buddy of mine in his 04 C5 6spd Vert 11.33 @ 119.9 mph 1.54 60' 3190 RW

I believe theres another fella who goes by the name of Dragman on LS1tech. He's gone 11.33@119.9 at 3400-3500lb RW in his automatic

I broke that record back in March of 2011 by going 11.28 @ 119.5 on a 1.52 60' around 3260lb

The quickest bolt on C5 Z is 10.89 @ 125mph on a 1.45 60' at 3300lb rw

Although that car would be in a totally different class than me (FRC and a LS6 motor in it) Im getting awfully close to beating that time as well

He obviously doesnt race or race enough. drag racing is more than just the simple laws of mass*acceleration and all that other jazz

There are a few variables that will make the car faster without adding hp. For instance- A high stall converter will yield waaayy better acceleration results than a stock converter. If i put a stock converter back in my car, I'd be willing to bet that I'll go about 6-7 tenths slower. my 3400 converter helped me to gain 5 tenths and 2mph in the 1/4 mile and the 4200 converter gained easily 2 tenths and 1mph on top of that. also, locking the converter after the 1/8 mile picked up an easy 2mph as well, since that increases the effeciency of the stall converter when its locked and spinning 1:1 with the motor

What exactly is your definition of "bolt-on"? If you're going to tell me you're running stock cubes (346), A4, with no head/cam work and 3100-3200 race weight and trap 122 - then I call ******** and agree with the guy on LS1 Tech. That is only a few MPH less than a serious 346 H/C A4 build built by AMR.

It's cool, Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I'm used to the non believers by now lol. Take a look at the Quickest Stock internals list on LS1tech. A bolt on is anything that does not touch the engines oil. Intake/exhaust/converter/gears. I also said my estimated RW is 3100lb. Could be a lil less, but I havent scaled the car yet. Just in case you dont go to that page the LS1 stock internal record for a 4th gen Fbody is 10.68@ 122.9 mph on a 1.37 60' at 3060lbs, other guys have trapped 123-124mph with a stock internal fbody. So after seeing those times, you have to ask yourself, how hard is it to believe after all? I think the main reason is because this is uncharted territory for a C5. Nobody wants to push one to its limits.

I purchased the car, bone stock in october 2010. I ran 13.01@107 on a 2.00 dead hooking 60' when the car was stock with a few free mods. Whenever I do a cam swap, I'll be sure to video everything closely. Especially when I pull the cam out/heads off. Also, when I dyno'd the car, I put down 362 thru a locked converter. my friend's bolt on c5 put down 352-354. My power peaked at 5400-5500 rpm and slowly drops from there. definately does not continue to climb after that.

And if all they're trapping is a few mph over me with a "serious" heads/car, thats horrible. I plan on going low 10s in the high 120's cam only lol.

I'm not trying to get into a pi$$ing match about this, but I know a lot about GM performance. I've been racing for over 25 years and have a 8 second Vette.

By the numbers, using well known information:
A stock C5/LS1/A4 puts down on avg 290 HP on a dynojet and traps ~107.
A stock, C5Z/LS6 puts down on avg 360 HP on a dynojet and traps ~116.

Therefore, how on gods earth is a stock long block LS1 with only Mani/TB/Gears/Stall/Tune and more parasitic DTL going to put down as much as a LS6/6speed on a dyno and trap higher when the whole world knows that autos trap less given the same HP level.

Explain to me and the rest of the world how you gained 70+HP and 15MPH with your mod list. It just doesn't add up. A friend of mine, who coincidentally was a C5 engineer under Dave McLellan also agrees with me.

His car is 100% stock internals. I can definitely vouch for it. I've been racing for 11 years all Gm. Welcome to the site.

on average, 290?? stock maybe. But 290 with full bolt ons?? In the words of Gene Wilder, you are WRONG SIR! WRONG!

Just because you supposedly have a 8 sec C5 doesn't make you omniscient. It's called technology. Get with the times man. My friend's bolt on only C5 put down 354rwhp, so how hard is it to believe I made 362 with larger intake, exhaust and an electric waterpump?? I locked my converter during my pulls as well. You will get a higher number when it is locked because it takes away most if not all slip compared to running it unlocked, thus cutting down on parasitic loss. Peak hp at 5500rpm and peak torque at 4500rpm. Doesnt sound far-fetched to me.

here, visit this link and tell all of these guys/gals that they have h&c on their bolt on cars.. http://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racin...1-74-bump.html

So who decided to make the fake username to mess with me?

Way to dodge the questions. My bolt on only t/a made 356/364 so his numbers are completely reasonable.

If you are here to troll you will be gone faster than Andy Reid. So yeah you kinda do have to answer to me

You dodged the question, but by doing so you have just answered it.

As for whoever made up this username.. If you're trying to fool anyone, You will have to do better than that. This is why the redflag went up halfway through your first post-

Your username- Does not exist on any other forums
Post count- Your first post was calling bs on my times
You Didn't post in the welcome section like everybody else usually does

That's just a few reasons right off the top of my head.

Honestly I would've had a better laugh if you put a little more effort into it

We've had several bolt on cars put down 350+ rwhp. A buddies 98 ta put down 375 boltons only. Simply put, light car, decent power and you'll go fast. Nothing crazy or unrealistic about that.

122mph 1/4 trap speed is about wat any average hads cam car can do. Wats so serious about that? My own sh#t box went 122 at 3700lbs heads/cam wrong size tires.
