Forced induction setups 11-11.5 is ideal AFR, 12 is a bit lean. Do you have the wideband graph from the dyno?

You need to see what the car does with traction before you tell him he needs a looser converter.
edit: Is your car spinning so bad that it is shifting into 2nd?

I'm not concerned about the tune the car runs great. It's just the traction issue that's holding me back.

How about adding a 50 shot of Nitrous for the top end? I dont see you cutting less then a 1.6 60' and with that you should run a 12.3 or so. I still think that if you want to hit an 11 your gonna need more power or less weight!!

I would be happy with low 12's. I really don't want to mess with nitrous (not that there's anything wrong with it) but not for me.

I ran HAL 12 way adjustable shocks and they were great.
Ditch the front sway bar.
I got to a point where the front shocks were set to 12 (all loose)
Rear shocks were set to a 4 on one side and a 5 on the other.
I'm not a fan of edge converters as they typically have low str's and poor efficiency.
Don't throw more power at it. Spend some time with suspension and even weight reduction/ relocation.
Maybe battery in the trunk or get an odessy 11 lb battery for the front. Light weight seat? How far would you be willing to go to with weight reduction/ relocation? I got my 97 bird down to 2720 and still had another 150-200 pounds that could have been removed

I got some summit adjustable rear shocks coming tomorrow. I like my edge torque converter it's the only one that has held up so far. You won't find a front sway bar on my car. I'm done with weight reduction also. I do want to get some M/t's and try again after I get the shocks set up.

If he is done with weight reduction then more power and suspension are the options. James your car weighed in at 2700lbs!! Thats insane!!

Or if you have a decent rear get some et streets and use a 50 shot of N2O off the line to spool the turbo faster once you get a few feet out.

Again I don't want to mess with nitrous. Traction off the line is my problem the turbo is spooling fine. If I need some more hp I can always turn the boost up a little.

Grab a set of ET streets and you'll see improvement....if your not happy after the tires you'll need a bigger stall....

Ok I sold the nitto's and I'm going to buy some MT's which I will be mounting on a set of salad shooters. What would be the best size width wise to buy?

Then you come in, and throw it all off.

i know several people who have had better luck with QTPs, a softer sidewall will allow you to hit them harder

Either tire will be a hell of an improvement over the Nittos.

They work very well for cheap-o summit junk....thats what I'm running in a few of the cars I work on and none of the drivers have any complaints...I'd post a video but seeing how the Non-NHRA sanctioned racing is frowned upon on this site I won't....feel free to PM and I'll send you a link of those shocks and some autozone springs in action....

i think that people are under the assumption that QTPs are going to last an oil change of DD duty. ive raced on a set for an entire season worth of racing + DD duty and still had tread lines left. almost everyone that i talk to that uses both says that they like the QTPs more
