There are some products out now for that suspension. BMR makes some products for the CTS-V that stiffen up the rear and greatly reduce wheel hop. The 2006 models get a stronger rear differential. I am waiting to see how long it takes to break this one with 450 rwhp (the customer is on his 6th. diff).

I believe there are only 2 cats and one resonator that can be easily replaces with an x-pipe.

There is a carbon fiber driveshaft available. I'm sure there will be an aluminum version out shortly.

Al, your saying that GM, specifically Chevrolet, is not going to use an SS option as the top of the line model. When the Z/28 was the top model for the Camaro, the Z/24 was the top model for the Cavalier, etc... Now GM is using the SS badge. Why would they not follow suit?

I have been seeing on other boards the whole "which is the top of the line model" discussion.

i didn't know i was going to be sparking such controversy. i merely used SS in my post as it came to mind that chevy is overusing the SS badges right now. sure, Z/28 has been, and will be, the top dog.

and a whole bunch of extra weight!

Lets all remember what the fastest stock LS1 F-body was. A Z28! Evan Smith drove one to the tune of 12.8 seconds in completely stock form. the fastest an SS went was 12.9. the Z28 is defintily the top level camaro trim.

Outiside of 85-87, IROC was an additional package that went along with the Z28, not replaced it.
I dont wana get into the Z28 battle. Some look to what Chevy is doing with there cars now and the SS package, but it doesnt explain the Z06.

A friend of mine sent me this article from Popular Hot Rodding http://www.popularhotrodding.com/fea...409phr_camaro/ about the next Camaro. (Obviously old because they talk about the Camaro being built on the Zeta platform.) If you look at the second paragraph, they mention this about the F-body: "Over the years it was everything from a limited-production big-block muscle car to an underpowered 4-cylinder economy car..." A 4cyl F-body? Did this ever exist? Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but as far as I know I never heard of this. Clarity would be appreciated. The rest of the article is pretty good in explaining the details of why they had to kill the F-body.

Not to be picky or anything, but Eleanor was actually a yellow and black '73 Mustang.

Actualy, it will use Zeta. The picture of the chassis is Zeta, or so Im told now. It is not Sigma-lite. The relation of Simga-Lite, Zeta, VE, and everything else is still very cloudy. But I was informed that the chassis CAD pics are of Zeta, and not Simga lite.

so does that mean the production camaro will get zeta or sigma-lite? I was under the impression that zeta was shelved for now. If what is pictured is a zeta chassis, then if the camaro uses sigma-lite, it wont look like that underneath. correct?

Well ya learn something new everday! Never knew about those. As for the platform for the new Camaro, everything I've heard recently points to a "Sigma-Lite" for the new Camaro. Originally they were going to build the next gen GTO on the Zeta, but since Zeta got canned, it will probably be on the Sigma as well, from what I've heard. . .

FYI, the GT500 IS back. It will be released in 2006-2007. It is supposed to have a supercharged 5.4L putting out between 450-460 horsepower. Retail is supposed to be around 40K.
dude, when it comes to new automobiles, i'll believe it when i see it. although hopes are running high that GM will bring back the camaro, it's not a slam-dunk. it's not even certain that the shelby will be released my2007, and we're a long way off from the launch date. so, as far as any car being certain for market, i'll believe it when i see it.

Zeta was never shevled, just put to the side as the GMT900's moved foward to give GM a boost in profit. Zeta was redesigned in a way to fit GM North American parameters and is now being fast tracked to the front line. Rumor has it that GM is pushing the Zeta chassis as fast as they can, even delaying the next generation Epsilon cars, one being the 2008 Chevy Malibu which was said to blow the doors off the Accord, Camry, and anything else. Thoes that had seen the concept were amazed and delighted that this was a Malibu. It was a bright light, but GM has pushed it to the side, and Malibu and G6 will ride on Epsilon I till 2010. Saturn Aura will have to put up a good fight till then.
To thoes saying "who gives a **** about the Malibu?", everyone does. Epsilon II will bring a lot for GM, especialy more main streem AWD cars. It will be more flexable then todays Epsilon, and will replace some of the W body cars. I kinda saw this coming, that 2 big chassis, Zeta and EPII couldnt be brought to the table at the same time. Upsetting to say the least. Now when the Malibu does hit the streets in 2010, it will already be dated and mid pack, already needing an upgrade.

As for possiblity or "slam dunk" chance of a Camaro, Ill put it this way. Michael Jordan has the ball, and hes flying down the court, and Kasey is the only one to stop him.
