He won't be running quick 8 at Atco unless there is a rule change. 2005 rules state no twin turbos. Here is a link to the rules.http://forums.godragracing.com/viewtopic.php?t=21409

i love turbo fear in racing. you can pop on as much nitrous or as big a super charger as you want, but god forbid you are smart enough to go turbo. they will try to find a way to crucify you.
teh usual contention is that turbo motor "cost too much", just tell me where to get a bargain price on 3stages of nitrous and a fully prepped mountain motor and i will see their point.

They are really just trying to keep the playing field level. A twin turbo motor has the potential to dominate things big time. As soon as that happens people stop showing up and the class dies. It keeps it interesting when you have differant combos running together.

i think he can still get in at E-town for Q8. i don't know what the new rules are yet. i know the nitrous motors are taking a little hit but haven't heard much on the FI cars.

with that twin turbo mustang setting the record at e town i doubt they are going to close the door to other twin turbo setups.

the only reason i know about the nitrous rule is from Gene destroying the record last year in his Duster.

is that the green one? i only know cars and their colors. i usually only make it to the atco quick 8's, and dont think ive ever seen it race there. theres a fast green nova too with some hot girls that line him up in the groove. i didnt hear about a nitrous duster breaking a record. thats a accomplishment haveing the rules changed because your car is too fast. what was that record and what did the duster go?

weight, inlet restrictions, take away the "W" tires, max TB sizes.
there are a lot better ways to level a playing field than to outdate someones $45k engine program. if you ban certain combo's, a few people with those combos will switch over, but many will be left out if they are on a budget and can't afford a completely different lump to throw between teh fenders

it's a Sublime Green Duster with a Chevy mountain motor. the Nova is from the same shop. the guys name is Nova Mike and one of the chicks is his girl (the one covered in tats). i forgot what the numbers were on Gene's (the Dusters) run, gotta make some calls to find out. if you only knew some of the drama that car caused last year......

the monte was a Neverlift car, my boss drove and owned it. 5 years ago sounds about right for when it was making it's rounds. Leo might have been getting seat time in it at that point.

Looks like twin turbos may be legal for this season. Cecil County has posted there preliminary rules for 06. Atco does not have there rules up yet but it sounds like they will be very similar.
Here is what the Cecil County rules look like right now. These are subject to change.

2...ENGINE:
A. Naturally Aspirated
i. Small Block 2400 lbs
ii. Big Block 2600 lbs

B..Nitrous Oxide:
i. Small Block 2600 lbs
ii. Big Block less than 650 CID 2900 lbs
iii. Big Block over 650 CID 2950 lbs
iiii. Big Block 5in bore spacing 3000 lbs

C..Turbocharged and Supercharged:
i. Single 3000 lbs 106mm
ii. Twins 3100 lbs 88 max or single over 106mm
iii. Centrifugally Supercharged 3000 lbs
iiii. Roots SB 3000 BB 3100
Max CID on Turbos is 550 cid

looks like they are taking a hard look at leveling the playing field. although i don't really think it is fair to include superchargers with turbo's. that kind ****s teh supercharged guys over cause even if they make the same peak power a turbo always has a longer and flatter power curve to use.

it woudl also be great if the different tracks would get together and make a single rules set. i know they aren't completely different, but it is a pain in the ass making 5 little adjustments to run teh same car at different tracks and still hope to hook exactly the same.
