before everyone flips out on you i'll lay it down easy. the firebird is DEAD. there will be no more firebird/TA/formula whatever the hell you guys call them. there will be another GTO though and whether or not that will have the same underpinnings as the camaro is pretty much obvious in my opinion

The LX chassis under the Charger/300 tips the scale at over 2 tons.
Outside of a smaller wheel base and overall length, how much lighter do you think its gunna weigh? Load it with a Hemi, etc etc...its gunna be near 2 tons. It might want to be a Pony car, but it sure wont weight like one.
Retro sells, as does great design. 300 is a great design. Some dont like it, but thats not stopping sales. Before someone throws the "retro" word on it, the only retroness is the name of the car. Cars sell on great design, be it retro or not. This car to me is already old, very little to oooh or ahhh. At least with Ford they made it look somewhat modern. This just looks like a 70 Challenger.
A well designed Camaro could not only appeal to enthuisasts, but appeal to non Camaro owners. People not only leaving Mustangs, but 350z's, RX8's, and other sport coupes.

thats exactly what needs to happen or the camaro is dead in the water. i cant even count how many "non enthusiast" looking people i see driving around in chargers and mustangs. so far they have done very well appealing to the masses. hopefully the camaro will do the same because if it fails you know damn well thats probably the end of gm's affordable performance rear wheel drive offerings.

V8 RWD affordable RWD offerings. Solstice and Sky are still there, and very affordable.

The new issue of Road & Track has the Challenger on the front cover. The article sounds very promising. Has a really cool looking engine. The only thing they say that could keep the car from seeing production is if Chrysler either can't make more room at a current plant or build/find a new plant.

I really do like this new Challenger, hope it gets released just as it's been pictured.
Looking forward to the new Camaro as well of course.
