If you want to drive it more than 3k miles per year, you have to use standard registration. Both QQ and Collectors registrations limit you to 3k miles.
Just go to your local MVC and get your plates...no need to go to Trenton if you aren't going QQ.

No, since BB is in Lawrenceville. Call DMV and get the right address. It is not the standard Trenton DMV service center. I am not sure about the 3000 mile restriciton on QQ, but could be.
If you don't drive it in the rain, or trips to the store and whatnot, 3000 is not nuts. But no one is checking the odometer with a QQ, but they are with the collector car reg.
Edit: Justin types faster than I do.

Alright, so its down to this
Do I go QQ plates and be strapped to a 3k limit, drive alllll the way out to Trenton and dodge bullets, but am void of any emissions testing?
or
Do I go regular plates, suck it up and pray for the best with emissions, and have unlimited miles?
I do 20k miles in a year...3k is a drop in the bucket. I can do 3k in a weekend.

Well, what I am saying is you won't do 20k in this car. It will have project downtime, you won't (shouldn't) drive it in the rain/snow, or to bad places, etc. Besides, does you odometer even work?
What insurance are you using? What are they going to pay you if it gets wrecked? If it isn’t agreed value, you are not going to get squat for it if anything happens, so that might keep you from driving it some places too. Will they put a mileage limit on you?
I still think it sounds easier to do QQ now and change later if you must.

What's the agreed upon value for the car?

There you go!
Just find out if the policy is agreed value or stated (book) value. Did they ask you about comp & collision? If they did (and you took it) then is is most likely book value. When you get past that CD ticket, look into better coverage.
Edit: Again, Justin outtypes me!

You need pictures of the car to get the QQ plates so don't bother heading down until you have pictures. The special titles/registration location in Trenton is around the corner from the normal DMV office in Trenton but you can park at the lot for the normal DMV office and walk over. I would call them first to see what you definitely need regarding paperwork. I learned the hard way that I was still missing stuff and had to get the bill of sale notarized in Canada!

Right, this is just a temp till 3 years passes (next year) and I get switch it over to hagerty. They are basing it off book value as there was no value quoted.
Anyone have the number of the place so I can call? And will they take black and white pictures from a computer printer?

no they must be color. they need three shots-one of interior, and two angled shots that show two sides of the vehicle.

You can park at the Stockton and Front street dmv and then walk over to special titles/registrations which I think is on East State Street 2nd floor. Do you have your insurance card with you? If not, get Allstate to fax you an insurance card.

3k per year... so if you need to, just keep track of your mileage each time you reregister (i think its every 3 years, and there's no fee). Then just fudge the number a little.... as long as you keep a piece of paper in a safe place with it, no problems, they don't check. Insurance doesn't either.
Also, included with QQ plates is 'pleasure driving.' The cop will have a hard time proving you weren't driving it for fun...

I figure I am going to report mine at re-registration time just under 2900 each year. This past year my 77 got about a total of 85 miles. So I will have a cushion for the next few years when it is driven more.

Well....the brakes were just put on this whole deal when I found that my mother never notarized it. I have this week to do it, and every day is full of a lot of work. This day is a total waste...Im kinda upset. Only thing I got done was the insurance card faxed to me.
I might head over to DMV by me because I need to get my Maxx registerd so I can drive legaly. I always have the ability to be pulled over with something like that.
Anyway...Day 1 down the tubes.
Day 2: Register for classes, hair cut, and hopefuly make it out to Trenton again.
Day 3: Parts should be here, so I will use that day to get all the stuff onto the car. Maybe make a little trip to the trucks with it.
Day 4: Put new wheels/tires on it, and take it out for its first trip if I dont get it wrapped up for Weds night.
Day 5: Wash clay bar and wax it. Get it purdy.
Day 6: Drive it alllll daaaaaay loooong.
Day 7: Nats

The old title from Wyoming to show that both of us signed it, and it has to be done infront of a Notary.

Gotcha. Last August, when I titled & reg my 77, all I had was the Delaware title signed over from the old owner. I guess they changed requirements.
