They did it gradually over some years. Now they have the Fit – the Civic ‘replacement’. That was not accidental, but a long term plan, to upsize those cars and introduce a new small one. I actually thing Honda would have done this faster but the SUV thing sideswiped their plan, plus until the past year, the demand for small cars was almost zero.

I see what you are saying but the fact is that overall autos are getting way too big. People keep asking for bigger and bigger and are going to drain their bank accounts. Sure, people think they can afford an extra dollar here or dollar there but it adds up so quickly that you see your bank account drain. Say you are a family that needs to save up for 1 vacation a year and it usually costs somewhere around 2k for the family to go somewhere. If gas prices go up $1 a gallon and you go through 30 gallons per week (for 2 cars) then:
1 x 30 x 52 = $1560 per year which means no more vacation

now take into account that they buy a SUV that gets 15 mpg rather than an econo sedan that gets 25.

Yes, but Econo sedans cant do things that SUV's do. Not saying that everyone with an SUV uses it for its purpose but there are people that MUST have a SUV or large truck.
There is a good tv ad about the Suburban showing 3 Honda Civic's filled with people and items, along with the last one hauling a trailer, driving next to ONE Suburban.
There is a need for them, and people who need them will buy them. People who can downsize a little but like the space have plenty of options in the new Crossover segment.

Im not saying that SUVs and Trucks dont have their place but lil Susan who has 2 kids and a dog doesnt need an Expedition to drive around Secaucus. People fool themselves way too much into what they 'need' when its only a 'want' and end up paying the price for it. I have the 7 but I also have a little saturn for daily driving. If I ever got an SUV it would probably be a 4cyl and small because though I do need it now and again I dont need a big one.

tell them to wrap it themselves and 'earn' an extra 7%. Since that is coinstar's cut.

Or go to Commerce Bank and don't pay anything.

Funny, I read an article somewhere, maybe the WSJ, that reviewed coin counting services. They looked at cost and accuracy. They showed Commerce being free, but had the most errors (they all had some level of error). Do it your self!!!

Really? I thought so, that they just took there cut, and didnt tell you about it. And if they get investigated, they just blame it on computer error.

I downsized from an SUV (Olds Bravada) to a Camry. Part of it was for gas milage, but mostly because I prefer cars over SUVs. My decision for the Camry is something I still kick myself over, however last year when people were just starting to turn in the SUVs and vans for cars is when I jumped on the beginning of that bandwagon.
