I'm sure he means the ease of entry/exit. I know usually back into spots when driving my dad's '84 Silverado for that reason.

What he said. As narrow as parking lot lanes are I can't swing wide enough to make it in a spot and be straight. That is if I even make it in the spot at all. Try backing a 21' truck out of a spot and you'll see why we back in.

I learned something valuable shortly after I got my license from a guy who regularly used one of his '68 Plymouth Fury III's to tow a 19' ski boat between Yardley, PA and downtown Trenton. If you can successfully back into a spot in close quarters, you shouldn't have any trouble pulling out of it forwards. The same cannot always be said in reverse....
