first, because nobody knows where the universe starts, or where it ends so how could you tell the center.

second, ask ANY scientist how an atom is formed and they wont be able to tell you.

third, what kind of human was around 25,000 years ago to tell us what happened to them. even if there were someone around 25,000 years ago there could be a severe case of the telephone game where the story was changed around from everyone who passed it on.

plus you always hear everyone say the world is ending im not sure what makes 2012 different.
The earth is knocked off its axis every 25k years? What're you smoking?

I'm not sure about knocked off its axis, but I know that every so many tens of thousands of years the poles switch, so north becomes south and south becomes north. I remember reading that in some science book and saw it on Discover Channel a few times.

The closest date to possible destruction of earth from a scientific standpoint that I have read of will take place in the year of 2880 or something to that extent.

Just out of curiosity, I was watching that movie "Deep Impact" and typed in E.L.E. to see what would come up on wikipedia. To my shock, I read that NASA is currently following an asteroid's course.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%2829075%29_1950_DA

Supposedly it will either just miss earth or definitely hit earth and kill most or all living things on earth. But we have a few hundred years to come up with a solution.

Here is another link that speaks of this asteroid and other near earht objects that can strike earth.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near-Earth_object

No worries, we'll all be reincarnated many times over before this thing hits if it happens. Unless a black hole swallows our solar system first.
