This is exactly why I burn lots of different mix CDs and have XM.....I rarely listen to regular radio.

enough is enough with certain bands... Zeppelin, ACDC, Pearl Jam , Nirvana (/puke), Lynyrd Skynyrd , Metallica even . There are sooooo many talented bands throughout the last 5-30 years why always the same select few?

disclaimer... i love and enjoy all of the aabove bands, Im just sick of hearing them on the radio.

The problem with radio is just what's already been illustrated here: They take a perfectly good band, pick three or four songs and play the everloving crap out of them. AC/DC has a ton of great songs, but all you ever hear is Hell's Bells, Back in Black and occasionally, TNT.

Up in my neck of the woods in Sussex County, I can only get in one station in the garage. That's right, one station (Sadly, the CD player died, probably due to all of the metal dust I throw around in there with the grinder and I'm too cheap to buy satellite until they figure out the whole Sirius/XM debate). That's it. It happens to be Franklin's rock station, the equivalent of 104.3. I never liked Rush (Not much of a pot smoking, laser light show watching hippie) or U2 (Die, Bono...just die...the starving children will thank you), but I now hate them enough to find an excuse to use the noisiest tool in my arsenal when they come on, which is at least three times in a five hour period (Six on 'Two for Tuesday').

You guys get some crappy radio stations.
92.3 plays popular rock, not many "new" songs
95.9 the Rat is one of the best stations around here. Every night at 10, they have Massive Metalica where they play a bunch of Metalica songs for about 20 mins or so.
101.9 is a new station that seems to play good stuff all around. From the 60's to present, its all rock.
106.3/106.5 is a decent station. When any of those 3 fail, I go to this one.

They gotta start playing the really good songs like Whole Lotta Rosie, Shoot to Thrill, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, Let There Be Rock, Dirty Deeds, Jailbreak.....The list goes on and on.............

yeah those are basically my stations. if they are commercials or crap songs, i hit up 104.3 and 105.7 for some classic rock! 101.9 is good though....nice mix

Classic rock radio stations are the worst - they must have playlists < 500 songs.

Id rather listen to AC/DC on my rock station than some "my girlfriend left me, now i have to cut my wrist" EMO crap or some "i can't sing worth a crap so i will shout some incoherent garbage and everyone will bang their heads and pretend they are a bad ass" ****...plus AC/DC always gets me pumped up, especially Thunderstruck and Have a Drink on Me...
