that makes absolutely no sense
rest and water are pretty much the only things that help. Some recommend vitamin B in addition.

Actually, it works. Its not healthy though. Its call the 'hair of the dog'. Whatever bites you, you bite back. The alcohol shot cures the withdrawal symptoms, while the pepto helps your stomach.
Man I wish they offered an Alcohol Science major here. I'd be Deans list all four years.

What's hilarious is when you have a gatorade or something, then you throw it up and it's still cold.

like it's been said, the greasy food helps (before you go to bed though) and gatorade in the morning for electrolyte/fluid replacement

This would be mostly true if you still had alcohol in your stomach. He was asking about a HANGOVER. A hangover is your brains way of screaming at you telling you your body is very low on water and electrolytes.
I find the best way to prevent a hangover (provided you havent gotten to the point of puking a lot) is to drink as much water (hangover jiuce also works here, gatorade) as you can before going to sleep. I learned that one from an alcoholic and it has always worked for me.
Any of the other things people have said about food should help to a certian extent and the more alcohol is not the best remedy but from what I understand it helps with the symptoms.
Another way I prevent getting drunk in the first place is to make sure I have had plent of food during the day so your metabolism is constand and it also helps slow the progression of the alcohol into the blood.

odds are you won't just puke a single time... so just eat food and drink fluids when the hell ever. your body will let you know if it doesn't like it hahaha

well when i wake up after drinking, i want to hydrate and eat, then take a huge dump. so something ties in there with hangovers. but i agree that the headache is from severe dehydration. you gotta chug water and piss alot.

The greasy food is a preventative measure, even if it's while you're drinking.. the gatorade is for during/after puking i guess

funny thing about gatorade and puking... if you forget that you drank it before you went to bed, don't freak out when it looks like your puking blood.

i feel this way about southern comfort. even jack daniels sometimes make me dry heave.
as to the OP, it's been said many times, but some people still don't know that water and time are the only ways to get rid of the alcohol. sometimes you get so dehydrated that water in your stomach makes you feel drunk again. that in itself might make you ralph again, so make sure to replenish any water you boot. just keep drinking water and/or gatorade (as soon as your stomach can handle it - not all people can drink gatorade immediately, and might earl it all up which is a waste of gatorade) then eat as soon as you think you won't chuck it.
when someone looked green enough to vomit, we used to make dry heave noises like "Earl, raaaalph, boooot, chuck, chuck". it's funny seeing their reaction, especially if it ends with them throwing up.
