Eh...I think Congress supported and pushed both. At least Afgan.
Iraq, possibly different. Either way, its war no matter if they declaired it or not. Still rules.

who's to say that terrorist isn't lying? how many times has this kind of thing been on the news? that would be like a cop writing a ticket and just because the individual was black, crying profiling and getting away with speeding AND causing the cop problems. I call BS, he should be executed the same ways as the blackwater guys

^^in full agreement with him, this political correctness bs goes way to far sometimes. Why should the terrorist be treated with any sort of respect or mercy. His sole purpose is to cause pain and death, why the hell should we show him any kind of compassion or fair treatment? F that

FoxNews wasn't the first to report the names of the SEALS if I recall correctly. However if I'm wrong about that then shame on FoxNews for reporting that. I know there are certain rules but I wouldn't charge these guys with anything....a punch in the gut...REALLY? Waterboarding is/was legal and a punch deserves charges? I'm telling you right now this is an attempt to smooth over relations with the Middle East and these guys are the scapegoats.
Obviously we have to be careful not to take everything in the article as truth but if it comes out that this detainee was in fact handed over to Iraqi security forces then turned back over to our military how do we know he wasn't roughed up in custody other than our own? I'm sorry but something doesn't make sense.
Our soldiers absolutely have standards they should adhere to or else they're not better than the animals we're fighting....however all those charges over a "punch"? Like I said...these guys are being used as scapegoats.

Waterboarding is legal? Since when?
I dont think this has anything to do with smoothing over anything with the middle east. The ones that are agaisnt us are against us, the ones that like us like us.
Nothing has changed in 20 years. We were always uneasy partners with the ME. The Saudi's like us for the money, but remember that they are the most strict and hardcore of the Muslim sects.
Our over the top sins is why they hate us. Having an occupying force in TWO Muslim countires isn't helping either.
I think its time for America to leave the middle east in the hands of the middle east. Why arent the Saudi's putting thousand of troops in Iraq? Dont they care about thier fellow muslims? Why are we in there?
I say the President starts dialog with Syria, Egypt, Saudi, Kuwait, Pakastan, and others to take over our opperation in both Afganistan and Iraq. Its time to let the middle east have a vested interest into the strength of thier region since they obviously dont want to follow our plan.

Coming from someone that's been out there in the fight this is definitely some BS. Being that its seals makes it even worse. They should wear the moniker "the few and proud". The seals exist for missions like this. Easy for some to make opinions when they've never been in.

lol i dont blame anyone or whine about nothing. i just think that you people in here have a ''holier than thou'' attitude when it comes to our armed force soldiers and let them slide or act above the law. no one should be above the law or held in a higher regard because they choose to be a programmed slaved of our govt.

I would care about them following the rules of war, if they the opposition was an official army that followed the rules as well, but they are militia, and terroists who use guerilla tactics, and disobey the rules, so why should we play fair? We tried the fair approach, and they took out thousands of troops in the most inhumane ways, so why not change it up? I say a kick in the balls was in order as well.

why is there a difference between the two...they just have different jobs. this is where america gets its panties twisted.....Military and Law Enforcement officers are not any different than anyone in america. if they dont want to sacrifice their lives they dont have to sign up for the military. they knew what they were getting themselves into.
anyway this is just a clear cut case of them taking the law into their own hands.
and blackdout...we should have to follow the rules of war because WERE THE ONES THAT WANTED TO GO TO WAR WITH THEM....WE ATTACKED THEM.....not the other way around

Choose the words wisely. We didn't ATTACK them, we attacked the militia's, the terrorists, and the leader of a country, not the civilians, but the civilians seem to of taken our presence as a bad thing and began to ATTACK us. And attacking them is a strong sentence like the word hate, how about trying the words we liberated the civilians, which we attempted to do, and I.M.O., we failed to a point, but we havent given up yet. I was never for this war, but if your gonna argue the war, at least get the words right and sorry, but we were attacked first, on several occasions. You can only poke the dog's eye so many times before he bites your hand back.
