if you take care of the weather stripping you really won't see a problem with leaking, i have had maybe a few droplets come through. That is only when im driving and the rain is being pushed from the wind as it follws the contour of the top of the window. You can also get the shades in the summe to keep some heat out.
never owned a vert camaro, but the vette that we have is rag it is cool having the top down, specially in the summer nights (but so is my camaro t-ttops) and you get a litte more attention. Not sure if the camaro rag tops are power but if not they can be just as annoying as having to put it down or up as the vette.
yet to see a girl who enjoys the rag top or the ttop, i alwayhs see them rolling up the window to stop there hair from blowing around.
IMHO i love my t-tops would never trade them for a vert or hard top.

The biggest downsides to a convertible is that wherever you park it, someone can cut the top to break into it in 1 second so you can't really leave anything in the car and you do have to be aware of where you're parking. And, eventually the top will start to wear out and you have that replacement cost. I've had about 4-5 first gen convertibles and it's cool for a weekend car, but a pita for a daily driver. The body will flex more and there is more road noise. Hardtop is the way to go, especially for a daily driver.

The 1st-gen Sebring 'verts looked MUCH better. Here's a pic of my 2000 back in '01 before it was totalled.
Convertibles are definitely FTW if it's a fun/weekend car. I only had my Sebring for 6 months before the wreck so I can't comment on winter driving/snow issues, but it only leaked a few drops in heavy rain.

none of the 4th gens ive encountered had leaking ttops. thirdgens like said before are another story. you cant go wrong either way. the convertible top really is nice though, unlatch and push a button...bam top down fun. ttops arent a big deal to take off either. most people are just lazy. takes 2 seconds.

As much as I absolutely DESPISE agreeing with stalker Nick... Convertibles really are where it's at. Those who have not experienced a fun, fast, droptop will likely never understand.

One or the other, convertible or hardtop. T-tops are lame.

I never had a vert until I got my SS. I'm very happy with my decision.
