So redraif, do you have regular plates or take advantage of being blind and mentally retarded / clinically insane (because no sane person, or person with a properly functioning brain that can see would do that to their car) and get a handicapped plate?

Maybe she isnt all about running her car?? Besides I have a V6 and I bet my car is 2-3 seconds faster in the 1/4 then your v8's are and what kind of gas miles do you get?? Cause I get 33mpg..

are you two to three seconds faster than 9.386 @ 143.66?
you might want to check the timeslip thread before you make such a bold statement.
back to the topic at hand...and please take into consideration that I am trying to be as nice as possible. Redraif, why would you sign up here just to defend your car? its obvious that many people dont like it (myself included) and apparently a few actually do like it. you dont have to go out on a crusade to fight in the name of your car. Who gives a crap if anyone likes it. you like it and somehow you have won trophies with it, so you should just be happy with the car and not care what other people think. And who PMed you about this thread? do you have some hidden network of spies scouring the internet for people talking bad about your car? I've said it before and I'll say it again...the internet is made for talking ****. Everyone has the freedom of speech and if they dont like the car, believe me they're gonna say something. you dont have to show up to our clubs website and start taking jabs at members whom you dont even know! Very immature.
Cliffnotes: -I dont like redraifs car
-she needs to accept the fact that her car will always be talked about, good and bad.
-talking bad about established members makes me angry

a) you can't quote worth a ****. b) you've got your facts wrong.
the reason why you own your car is MPG? i know several cars, without doing any research at all, that get better MPG. (about as much nonsense as you are spewing, thrown right back at you.)
if she wasn't about running her car, then why would she be complaining on her website (no one went fishing for that one, it bit us in the ass) that her car is not performing to her satisfaction?
quantify your 33 MPG. was that downhill, with the wind to your back? from one gas station to the next, down I-95? saying you get 33 MPG in the context that you use would lead someone to believe you get 33 MPG every time you drive it, which we all know to be false:

- 1998 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28 COUPE
Description: Sport coupe, convertible
Model Options: Sport coupe, convertible
Wheelbase: 101.1 inches
Overall Length: 193.5 inches
Engine Size: OHV 3.8-L V6 OHV 5.7-L V8
Transmission: V6: Manual/5, Auto/4 V8: Manual/6, Auto/4
Drive: Rear
Braking: Power 4-disc/ABS
Airbags: 2
Gas Mileage: V6: 19/30 mpg
|
further, your tag line (also known as signature) is inaccurate:
Quote:
Similar styling and an economical engine show up in a base Camaro, also cast as coupe and convertible. Its 3.8-liter V6 delivers 200 hp with either the Hydra-matic 4-speed automatic or a stock manual 5-speed transmission.
|
if you've got: Forged motor, Heads, cam, intake (the only things i can see in your signature that contribute to power production, not even a better exhaust!), you'd have to have gotten an additional 170 horsepower (ok, 70 horsepower if you remove the 100-shot of nitrous oxide, which i have to assume you added in to make your number bigger) and everyone with a V6 wants to know where you got your parts so they can get some too, and, then explain how it is that you are getting 33 MPG? if you are still on a stock tune, which you claim to be, then your car is running like **** with large plumes of black smoke coming from the tailpipe. that's extra gas, in case you didn't know, and it would bring down your MPG significantly. so, which is the truth and which is the lie?
don't come to my house looking for a fight. you'll lose everytime.

oh, and one more thing: your car is not 2-3 seconds faster than either of my V8s. there is only one person that i know of that is running faster than a v-8 with a v-6, and it ain't you.

The car looks good. I can do without the red tint, 17 spoilers, and the v6 tho. People have different ways of customizing there cars. Fatty's got 19 inch chrome rims, my pro/am had a bolt on cowl hood, Kasey's even got a bunjee cord of some type holding his front end together. Lets look at the good things about this car... its got a nice exhaust setup, the interior is very clean as well as the engine bay, and its a FBODY for christ sakes. No matter how gawdy it is, its as long as the owner is happy (fbody speaking).

I dont want to mess with the tune with the maf plus I am waiting to get HP tuners next month.. I havent had the bottle on the car since that dyno which was in March.. slow-v6 i severely doubt your a full 2 seconds faster then my v6...as far as v8's there are a good amount in the 12's or better on this ~500 member site so dont get your ego to big there bud. I doubt youve run your car but from the sounds of it your lucky if you hit mid 12's on your 125 shot as it stands and probably mid 13's NA just by looking at your #'s & race weight. To the person that went and told about this thread i have two words for ya "tattle tail" :P as far as redraif goes I will say Im sorry to your personally...not for starting the thread because I honestly think it looks like ****...but getting bashed from one site to the next just for following your dream must suck so for you to see it on one more site must suck...you should probably blame that on the person who for no obvious reason pointed you to this thread...theres obviously more people that dont like it than do so stop defending it & go your own way(joeja) & we'll go ours(jerzey).

Not directed at anyone, this is my honest opinion... I really dont see what the fuss is about with "who's faster"... clicking this thread makes me think I joined Honda4LYFE.net or something... who cares whos v6 is faster than this v6 or v8 or this LG4 is faster than a modded LS1 (just had to add that in ROFL)... theres a .org after NJFBOA for a reason... stands for organization, not cluster****. As long as an Fbody (excluding Koll's) is in front of an import at all times, then theres no need to argue. Thats my 2 cents. This thread may be resumed

well now, this thread turned into a pissing match.
Slow-V6, if she wasn't about running her car, why would she bother dynoing it and taking it to the track? people don't do that to show cars. also, i seriously doubt you get 33 MPG with your mods. I owned a '98 Camaro V6, and even with some mild modifications, it barely saw 28-30 MPG on the highway.
as for the 4th gen V6's running faster than 2nd and 3rd gen V8's, that may be true depending on which V8 you're talking about. An LG4 (4-bbl 305) will definitely lose to a 3.8L 4th gen, but an L98 will definitely lay the smack down on an L36. hell, even a decent-condition LB9 will take out a V6 4th gen.
I'm all for V6 performance. I loved my car when I had it, and had big plans for it. Don't get me wrong on that.
the topic of discussion here is the ugliness of the car. It is probably one of the top 5 worst-looking F-bodies ever. Redraif, not to diminish the time and effort you put into the car, but you could have had better taste when it came to the appearance. It is unique and all, but that doesn't make it good-looking. Lord knows how you won trophies with the thing.
However, I will say this: It is your car, and you will do with it as you see fit. If it looks good to you, that's fine. Don't get offended if someone (or in this case, nearly everyone) doesn't like it. Just accept it and move on. There's no need to go around and make a whole big scene because someone said something negative.
and to the other members of this club:
Let's chill out, OK? We should try to be a little more mature, and represent the club respectably. Don't degenerate into mindless internet flamers over something stupid.
