Maybe, it really depends on some stuff going on.
Anyway, are you guys DD racing that night? Hopefully I can get the new rear together and in the truck so I can make some passes... and maybe get some help tuning the damn thing
And for clarification, any non-turbo/supercharged factory car with a power adder does need a fire jacket.

The only thing I have ever had checked was my helmet to ensure it was not expired. That would be the only thing I would have in order.

Which again, if you're running a street car that was faster than 14s from the factory is a lil absurd considering what runs faster than 14s........ But rules are rules, so maybe I'll sandbag then save the best for last with that one when I'm done with it.

I highly ddoubt they would check you for a loop even if you ran a ridiculous time.

They certainly don't. They are the kind of track that even if they do see something minor that isn't right (for example, they absolutely hate plastic oil pressure lines) they will usually tell you that you can race but they don't want to see you again until it's fixed.
It's a crappy little track but it's very close so I won't complain.
I put a CBR 600 motor in a Yamaha Warrior and they had 3 track officials trying to figure out what I needed to have to race it. I held up the line for 45 minutes or so, they denied me and I started arguing with them. They brought me into a building and took out a rule book and sure enough I was able to discuss my way into running 1/8th mile passes.

You guys are honestly over looking this whole situation. If Beggs passed tech last year with a 3 foot crack in his windshield, and Erik with the twin turbo GTO passed tech with nothing but a helmet, you guys will be fine. Its Island we are talking about here, not Englishtown...

Big lawsuit for a death last year?
Even if they beat it, they lose a lot of money fighting their case. Other tracks will probably tighten up since the heat is on.

LOL
Those waivers can work, KINDA. In the legal world there are situations that it will cover and things that it won't. You can't sign your life/safety away that easily. In a courtroom it can get blown away as crap incredibly fast. I've seen it, and been a part of it.
In the case of a death and the threat of criminal negligence, well, the "well you signed a waiver" is about as tight as a 10 bolt front pinion seal.

if they break a safety law which may have contributed to the death....
like if you hit the wall and their is no EMT on site, which is mandated by law.

What about the 88 GTA with terminal knock that they passed and would have let run?

They assumed all third gens sound that way.
Either that, or someone finally put a diesel in one of those land barges.

I'm out but I was runner up today at the Ol' Daze Drags at Island in N-4 (14.00 and up). What a long day. Two hours late to start, because of the rain had to prep the track. Someone took down the electric pole in the staging lanes. Another hour or more delay, plus a oil down.
