even on track days, a rollbar is more then likely needed for a convertable. 95% sure

OK, got some clarifications.

Verts will need a roll bar. I am going to get the specifics and post them up.

Truck and SUV owners, sorry but we won't be able to allow them.

Yeah I'll have to bring the GTA then

There isnt anyway around the vert rule? These are factory spec cars and it isnt like there will be bumping or anything.

its a NJ state rule. any and all convertables need a rollbar. regardless of other cars on track.

Angry

I wonder why they won't allow trux? I could see not allowing lifted 4 X 4s with big knobby tires or such, but trux like Mike's or say a Syclone or Typhoon are made to be able to take turns...

Even for novices, the cornering loads and G forces are easily high enough to pose a serious risk for SUVs, trucks and vehicles with a lot of mass and relatively high roll centers. That's why most groups and tracks do not allow them even in modified form.

Stock 4th Gen F-bodies have surprising amounts of body roll and brake dive on road courses- especially with OEM suspension and ride height. This isn't because they're bad cars, it's just a matter of the cornering forces acting on the relatively heavy mass of the car and the grip level of large sticky tires.

It's all about the physics.

Are there any restrictions on T-Top cars? Or is it just convertibles there worried about?
