There was some nice racing going on. Seemed like a really weak turnout- esp for a car show? I didn't want to run my vette at first since I drove a hour away and track prep/conditions were the same as they were before they closed, but I'll always support a track & a car club. It was fun just cruising up there.

The black C6 parked across from us was you?! Had I known, I would have made it a point to find you. We had members all over the place, as well as many lurkers. Because of the venue and other logistics, it was nearly impossible to get an accurate attendance list. However, I found that 4/5 of the people I spoke with had viewed this thread before coming--including the red [ProStock?] Camaro running 8.3X's, and some other 4th gen guys.
I'll reach out to some people and see if I can get a grip on the actual tally. But it seemed that the crowd was 90+% FBody to me...

I agree with 79camaro. Cruise up was great. Hit detour at Longvalley on rt 24 added 40 min to trip on backroads I was never on. Great weather held out saw some great cars run down track. Liked the flames from deadtrend's white TA. Was going to say hi but they were working on car and did not want to interrupt. Next time.

Hahaha forgive me. Recently made the switch from a LG EnV Touch to a Samsung GS4. Perhaps too much phone? Lol!

When I ran against you I had finally figured out what was going on, car was 100% on the low octane timing table. So I copied the high oct. table into the low oct. table to troubleshoot, and picked up a lot of my missing MPH. Of course, I still have a bunch of knock retard due to the tank of crap gas, and I had monkied with my shift points trying to figure out what was wrong, so... When I got home I put the tune back to where it was before, with a few minor changes, mostly in shift pressures and mild timing changes. Need to pump the bad fuel out of the car and load it back up with premium.
Last outing I ran a 12:35 @ 110.4, so dropping to 12.60's was a bit disappointing. DA didn't help, it was around 2000 if I remember right.

No arguments from me, haven't seen video of my making a pass before. You can really tell that the handling suspension limits traction on takeoff.

Keith, weren't you still cutting 1.7 60' times with that suspension though?

This was probably a big issue of mine too, other than the first time I've had it to the track with the stick as well. I just couldn't get it off the line the way I wanted to. Track prep wasn't really all that clean either, could see how bad it was at the start.

If 12secondv6 was pulling 1.8 60' in a 4200lb. car on street tire, you really have no excuse.

Yeah I know, I saw his thread and that sort of surprised me. I was doing low to mid 2s, couldn't get it lower, played around with the launch, if I got down to 1.9 I would have been happy. Didn't care much about the RT, but a suspension that is not exactly conductive for drag racing and the first time having it at the track with the stick, didn't exactly help either. Probably a little of everything. But whatever.

That last pass was a very lame 1.88 60'. You can hear the wheelspin in the video.

A lot of that was mine also. We dropped my 2 step 400 rpms to try and stick a launch.

No its a 350, with 3.70s to boot which is why I'm sort of scratching my head. Best 60 foot was 2.1, and best ET was a 14.9 at 89 a year ago, with an auto. Theoretically, the manual would be a little quicker. Guess I need to get the launch down. I know I can get it down time wise. Spec wise that car should be running 14s. Most of it may be the unfamiliarity of the car now that it is a manual, but I did a run a couple weeks prior on an empty stretch of road. approx 500 feet, and the car was at a dead stop, before I hit the end of the stretch (corner) it was doing faster MPH wise than my 1/8th mile trap. as much as 5 mph faster.
Deadtrend, it was setup for autocross by Matt who seems to have gone MIA around here. Konis, Eibachs, strut mounts, aluminum driveshaft, double rod ended panhard bar, I added tubular LCAs, a wonderbar, the six speed and poly bushings on the trans and torque arm. From what I know and have been told, you have to compromise somewhere if you want to do well at both drag racing and autoX/road courses. You're leaving room on the table for one or the other. Can have a pure drag setup, or a road course setup, but one will not work well or as well when using the other. I felt better taking the turnaround at speed than getting off the line. Even 12secV6 guy said I was taking the turnaround corner faster than he was.
