At the moment, there are at least 5 people from last year's league willing to sign up again. PMs have been sent to everyone who played last year and haven't replied since my first post on 7/27.
If there ends up being more than 10 people willing to play, we will end up not having the keeper league. I will not excluded people who want to play.
The draft won't be until the end of August so there is still at least 3 weeks to figure everything out.

Can we take the limit off the waiver moves too. that was kinda beat because no one was willing to deal because of the limited number of deals. also i think 10 is the magic number, any deeper than that and it becomes slim pickings

Waiver wire moves will be less restricted if there are less teams and shorter benches. They shouldn't be unlimited, but whatever restrictions there were last year will be lossened.

unlimited waiver wire moves makes it intersting because people will be able to dump and move each week leaving the pool of available players and trades to be a bit more lucrative and add to the drama of someone releasing a player only for them to do awesome that next week

If we are going to reduce the restrictions on waiver moves. We should cut down the number of bench players too

If you end up doing a fresh league, there's interested there.

the whole keeper league idea if it is still an option you can always give the 1 new person the other guys team to work with from last year thats how my other league always handles it when people drop out
and im in for this year

At the moment, there is 9 out of the 10 owners back from last year. I will PM Cycule and let him know that there is a spot available to him in the league. If he accepts, I'll start a new thread and try to figure out a draft time that works for everyone.

What's the rule on the keepers? How many. How do they affect the draft

To be honest, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the keeper rules. I have to do some more research to clarify everything.
But, here is how I understand them at the moment:
You are allowed to keep two players.
Draft order will go in reserve of last years final standings: If you finished last, you pick first. (Unsure if it will be snake order the rest of the way.)
Your first keeper choice will cost you your first round pick. Regardless of where you picked him. I.E. If you selected Calvin Johnson in the 3rd round last year, and you label him as a keeper, you will lose your first round pick.
Your second keeper choice will make you forfeit your second round pick.
The other league I'm in is doing a yahoo keeper league as well, so I'm working with the commissioner there to figure everything out. Once I get more information, I'll let you all know. I hope to have everything figured out by the weekend so you'll have plenty of time to decide on keeper picks.

You have it set the way my other league does(keeps going on 5 years) the keeper counts for the round they were drafted in last year. If they were undrafted they count for the final round.
When you do keepers you pretty much have to use last seasons results as a draft order.
We have a personal rule in ours that you can only keep a player twice (3 years total) which makes for some big trades
