If we want a long running project, I may be able to donate a car, provided i get it back when its done. a 1970 GTO in rough shape, but i believe its numbers matching, and with 80k on the odometer, fixed up, it could be pretty nice. Just a thought. It could be like, something that ties all of the episodes together. One episode contains working on the interior, one on the engine, etc. It gives us a topic, and it actually gets the ball rolling on this damn project (it was my dad's back in college, and it was banished to the far side of the garage by the evil Queen Mother and spent almost 20 years in exile...but now it has returned, and with a vengence. It has advanced from the mud, to the far side of the driveway, all the way to the neer side of the driveway. I'l take some pics of it to show anyone whos going to the November meet.

And, if we want a quick project, i should be alble to convince my dad to give us his 85 Ford F-250 POS. We fix it up into sellable condition, and then he can sell it for better money. I dont know why, but the recent trend these days is that peole are paying more money for cars with working brakes and steering that isnt all over the road. who woulda thought?

Both projects sound good to me. If you still need a filler project, I'll do that thing on minor detailing and touch-up on your show car. As you saw, it's a small project, but it is something that some people are afraid of. If we show them it's not a daunting task, then we've accomplished something.
Oh, and on that ford thing, here's a few of my own:
1. Have you driven a Ford lately? No mine's in the Shop again.
2. Ford, where quality is job one. Unfortunately we skipped right to job 10, which is-get this thing out of here before anyone notices all the defects.
3. Ford, built for the way you live. Assuming that you're terminally ill, and will be dead in a week.
4. Built Ford tough (translation, made out of recycled 'Silly Putty').
And of course there are more.

New Ford Commercials: "If you haven't looked at a Ford lately, look again.
Me: ::Glances in rearview mirror:: "Yup, still there!"

Best one of all time......but its not from me.
Dont knock Fords, man. 98% of all Fords are still on the road...the other 2% made it home.

well, it's pretty much evident that we're gonna need some cash along the line with this thing. i'm just trying to hunt down some of that green stuff, or in lieu of cold hard cash, i'd take product.

That's my perpetual problem, no money to do anything of any great consequence . Which is also the main reason I suggested an extremely low budget thing, like that engine detailing project. The paint is relatively inexpensive, the 'Artist's Brushes' are also pretty inexpensive, as are the remaining supplies needed to do the job. I also figured on showing how to touch up an already clean engine, so as to further keep costs down, and so as to make for a project that wouldn't be as likely to scare off a 'first timer.'
Hope that helps things along a least a little bit

Yeah, and that's where you're likely to find the one I drive as a 'Daily Driver', on the road, possibly all over the road , maybe even making it all the way home

Right after he saw the wreck I drive every day. Now there's a 'project' and a half. Only catch, we'd need a 'Warner Brothers' budget to do anything with this heap of mine

I don't think I have to tell you this, but I will, your help and expertise, are an invaluable asset to this project. Of course with a little luck, some perseverance, and maybe a yet to be known cash benefactor, this can be something really great, and even without that benefactor, your help will still give this project the big push it needs to make it become a reality

Too bad that my Garage is so crowded that I can just barely get in around my car, that the car is as far from being an Fbody anything as you could get it, and that the job is done, because I just did a job that would have been perfect for the 'Average Guy's Car Show.'
Seems that despite numerous attempts at resealing the 'Water Outlet' on my 1960 Plymouth's engine, that the 'Water Outlet's' somewhat deteriorated condition, allowed coolant to still seep around it a bit. So, I took the advice of a fellow Hot-rodder, and bought a 'Water Outlet' for a 'Non-Power Steering' equipped 'Slant-Six' car, and then I also bought two pieces of 3/8" I.D. Pipe, which I then measured up against the bosses that existed on the original 'Water Outlet', marked them off accordingly, put them in my Lathe down in the basement, and then cut them precisely to length, so I had the correct height spacers I needed to adapt the 'Non-Power Steering' 'Water Outlet' to my 'Power Steering' equipped car. The entire job took about 1-1/2 hours to complete, and now I have a brand new, hopefully leak proof, 'Water Outlet' on my 1960 Plymouth.
Oh, and no, they don't make the correct 'Water Outlet' anymore, it was a one year oddity, found ONLY on the Full size Plymouths and Dodges equipped with the 'Slant-Six' and 'Power Steering.'

So, how did your experiment work out?
Oh, and did anyone, other than myself happen to read and digest my last post about that 'Water Outlet project of mine? Though I'm not exactly willing to tear that thing apart again for a 'Show and Tell', maybe we could still use the project in some way for the 'Average Guy's Car Show', even if all we did was a brief overview of how it went
