Found out that there will be a clear lexan version. I didn't realize people actually liked that option. I wish they ****-canned that idea.

yup, sorry our cars weren't designed with a straight edge ruler by a guy with cut off jeans, An iron maiden shirt, and a mullet like your delicious malaise era jewel. Anything 4th gen is pure blasphemy, even their horrible engines, only a fool would want to put any of their parts in a 3rd gen, oh wait........

Sales numbers and numerous accolades beats your jelly bean with an engine. Don't feel bad that your car is the bastard child of a 40 year old car. It will become the C3 of the Camaro world. Or worse, the new late 2nd gen.

Hey! Late 2nd gens probably outsold all 4th gen years combined.

Wait, no opinions but yours! We all bow to the new corvette, 100% perfect!

#1: sure they did, but they are still ugly as sin.

#2: Wow, that's silly. Corvette isn't perfect, but it is pretty close.

I think that this is a study in the "damned if you do, damned if you don't". Porsche gets nailed a lot for it's design being basically the same thing for the last 40 years, and C6 was raked a bit for being a C5 with fixed headlights.

Now, they take the design in a totally different direction, and people like yourselves are crying, "IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A CORVETTE, WHAA WHAA! IT LOOKS LIKE A *insert another front engine/rear drive coupe here*AND THAT SUCKS ZOMG THE TAIL LIGHTS AREN'T ALL THE WAY ROUND OHHH NOOOES!!"

I just think the tail lights suck. I also think they suck on the camaro. So I am consistent. But I know my opinion is invalid to you.

ditto

I want squared tips with the camaro taillights and it would be spot on to me.

I'm glad they went radical on this design.

So it looks good busy? Or you find busy as a negative?

I hope this wasnt posted already. I like the tails on this one but that exhaust would have to change.. The lights have a new design and they still keep the roundness for the vette people who want to have the round/oval lights..

I do like the busy a little bit. I like the vents next to the tail lights and the design of the lights themselves. They have a sharp look in person.

What I don't like is the through the rear fascia exhaust. They should have just left the hole there. I also agree that they could have done something other than 4 exhaust ports. I would like to see two large trapezoidal designs to match the tail lights.

I also find these busy, but good looking.

I like how both of those have some sort of thought to them. I still want to see the vette in person.

After seeing v's picture the rear would be fine if they didn't have center tips and mounted a moved them to the sides of the rear bumpers(liike 4th gen trams am's).

The proposed Vert looks alot better in my opinion. It looks more like a vette. The rear still needs to be different.

The biggest difference between a Porsche and a Corvette is when you push up against the back of a Porsche, it doesn't cave in from all the plastic goodness.

And there's a difference between taking a vehicle in a different direction by designing a revolutionary look, and just creating a hodge podge of different designs from your competitors. Al, I'm sure even you can agree that there's quite a few styling resemblences from vehicles such as the Lotus Evora, GT-R, and even the New Viper.

But those cars are not Corvette. Corvette has been around since 1953. There is a reason for that! Its an Icon. Nothing in the world looks quite like it. Now I cant say that about the new Vette.

For any of you guys with Gran Turismo 5, Chevy released the masked C7 for the game late last year and just released the final Sting Ray prototype in mid January:

I'll be online later today giving it a spin

Its sad. I still really dont like the C7. Its been a month now since its release and I still feel the same about it.

Over on the Vette Forum there is still a 50/50 fued ( more like 55bad/45good) for the people who love the car and the people who have issues with the car. Thats bad when half the people who actually buy corvettes have issues with the new one and are uncertain if they will buy it. If Gm cant sell this new Corvette to the Corvette crowd then who will they sell it to?

Well in theory the Vette crowd gets "younger" every year. Right now its the old timers that can buy the Vette but are from the 50's and 60's but tomorrow's "old guy" will be from the 70's and 80's who, IMO, are into the looks of the newer vehicle styles. Also I think that the people that are more into exotics may consider buying a Vette now
