TV cable

I've never worked with the 700R4 tranny before. All on my experience is with older models such as the TH350/400 which only have kick down cables. I know that these kick down cables can not do damage to the trans if not connected while driving, but i've heard that a disconnected TV cable for the 700R4 can and does create a problem for the trans while running. My question is, is there the potential for significant damage during the 24 mile round trip to mufflex to have the exhaust installed and then the 5 mile one way to the trans shop(who will install my speed sensor and TV cable[i lack brackets and proper adjustment 'know how'])? The car will not break 40mph on either trip.

if you pull it out about 1/3 the way out and use wire tyes to hold it out the trans will think grandma is driving the car and if you take it easy no damage will happen -- jz
