NO SPARK

Hey guys got a problem with my 305 v8 TBI i have no spark. I put in a new distributor and cap and rotor module the whole thing and I can't find the problem. I getting no spark at all and i feel the next step to go through the wires and look for a short so i was wondering where should i start looking. I was thinking maybe my viper alarm has an electric cutoff but i really don't know and this never happen before. Also I changed the blaster coil but that didn't make a difference and when i tried starting the car after it got towed home the ground wire from the battery to the body fried but i changed it. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. So if anyone has any suggestion i would greatly appreciate it.
thanks
enrico
