1970 chevy nova
i had a 69 nova when i was 18 and i had to sell it and ever since then i have been itching to buy another one. well that time finally happened two days ago.
1970
current mods
-qa1 front coil overs
-tubular A arms
-wilwood disk brakes up front
-slotted and drilled rotors
-8 point chromoly cage
-frame connectors
-full autometer gauges
i also have all brand new sheet metal for the front end including a 4 inch steel cowl induction hood.
the plan is to finish my 406 smallblock and run a t56 from my old 96 trans am with some 4.56 gears out back.

Looks like a solid project! Planning on keeping it the same color?

thanks, lol ive acquired some nice tools. i purchased the sandblaster from harbor freight and it actually works very well for smaller stuff, they also sell the sand there as well. it was around 90 dollars for the blaster and a larger jug of sand. granted i have a large compressor so it works better than if you had a small HP one.

Nice progress! Are you going to move the tach over to the right to tuck it inside the hood?

WOW! That's fast progress! Looks really good! Your patch is very well cut and fit. The pic might not have done it justice, but it looks as though you didn't do a lot of grinding to bare metal before you welded. Any more repairs like that, make sure you grind at least a half-inch in from each edge to be welded. You'll have a stronger weld and less sizzling and spatter. Unless it's just a bad picture angle or my old eyes are bad. Either way, this project is awesome! Keep up the forward momentum!

thanks! i should have went farther with my grinding, it splattered a little towards the right side. i have to put another patch in because he did a hack job rectangular opening for the shifter linkage. i will be sure to grind farther out and see what difference it makes. thanks for the tip!

Love the car, hate the hood, too tall for my taste 2in sets the novas off nicely. Nice car, maybe youll give me some motivation to get my 72 done.
