Header leak, but which side?
It sounds like I have a header leak but I'm trying to figure out which side before taking it apart. The long term fuel trim on bank 1(driver's side?) is running about 7-10 lower than bank 2 during cruise conditions. I'm interpreting this to mean that bank 2 is reading lean and adding more fuel. At cruise and idle the header leak would be sucking in air through the leak thus causing the lean reading. So this makes me think my header leak is on the passenger side(that figures). Anyone have any thoughts before I waste my time on that side first. You just can't quite hear where it's coming from when you rev the engine while in park.

Try taking a strip of paper and move it around the ports, if the paper starts moving you found the leak.
What gaskets did you use? I'm had problems with the felpro gaskets leaking in the front of #2, they like to rip there for some reason.
Also double check your O2 fittings into the headers.

I used the FelPro gaskets. And my current SES code is P0302 which is for a misfire on cylinder #2. That also makes me think it's leaking around that cylinder.

Check out SCE brand or Summit brand copper gaskets. Ron and Harold switched to them and never had another problem after going thru 3-4 heat cycles and retightening the bolts.

Pulled the passenger side gasket last night and sure enough it was leaking. But not around the #2 port, it was leaking around both bolt holes surrounding the #4 and #6 ports! The dam FelPro gaskets didn't have enough material in that area. They look like they're for seriously ported heads. Seeing that makes me want to replace the driver's side as well since I'm sure that will blow out at some point in time too. Stay away from the Felpro 1406 I think they were.

didn't Pacestter supply gaskets?? thats what I used with mine and i have had no problems yet :knocks on wood:

Yeah, but I would never use that cardboard style gasket. Obviously the Felpro's weren't much better.
