holy cow. if I'm not mistaken, that is even before the first oil change on some BMWs. I know my friend's Mini didn't call for a Oil change till almost 15k

That's correct, BMW says every 15K

Psh, you can go waaayyyy longer, like that guy that had his valve cover opened at 60K cause he heard a ticking noise, he was spot on with the timing for the oil change

I know a girl that only got 30k out of a new Camry because she thought the 100k tune up means no oil changes until then.

lol they seem to do pretty well with that interval, except for this one.
The only guess to what happened it te thing hydrolocked. . . . I wish we knew the story besides being at an auction. For all we know the car was repoed and they guy did it.
15k is also just when BMW is going to pay for it, you can do inbetween changes
everything is ok though the 23k motor is now in

no no, the motor was 23k $ the basic 6cyl is i think 17000$

I thought it was grimey that they were putting a higher mileage motor in the car, but I still thought the same thing.
My question is, who foots the bill? Is that a warranty item even though the car wasn't owned by a customer?

yeah i am not sure exactly who pays the bill on that part the dealer or the shop . . . . i think BMW covers parts and shop covers labor.
i will find out exactly tommorrow prices and everything
