is this a BCM problem or ??

the car doesnt have power windows so kinda hard to go by what all the info from google say lol.

there is the issue with the radio turning on and off (which is really annoying) and for the past week when i go to start the car the lights on the gauge cluster turn on and then the car dies and looses power. in order to start the car i have to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect it and the car starts up fine. so is this a bad BCM or ???

i would have the bcm scanned for trouble codes, i don't necessarily think it is bad but its the best start.

a professional scanner can do it. if you have a local shop or dealer, i'd try there.

This is for the intermittent radio since the starting issue can be a few things. . . .

take your kick panel down and your glove box out so you can see what you are doing and to make it a little easier on yourself.

remove the BCM that is tucked in the upper right hand corner with i think three conectors on it.

pop it open should just be a plastic box, should looks like this. That relay i have highlighted breaks the contacts on the board and causes the intermittent radio and power windows if you had it.

take the board out flip it over and find the broken solder on the leg of that relay. Should look like what i took a picture of if you can zoom in. It will be a little ashy around the solder and you will be able to see a small slit, hard to believe it would even do it but it does.

Check this out before you spend the money on anything . . . it was a free fix for me and has been working since

FYI what i just told you was based on what i got from my 2000 camaro. . . . . im hoping it will be similiar for you, while you have the BCM apart check all relay and corrosion on the connectors themselves
