I'm always at the show, but starting this year I'm not bringing my car. Too many idiots looking to race, run into you, or try and get you to do burn outs.

there are two things i do without fail every year: wildwood (may & sept) and the englishtown swap meet.

once it gets closer to the event there will be a post with links (hopefully stickied) so we can see who will be making the trek.

Thats Wildwood! I got a ticket last year for something stupid after the cop followed me for like 6 blocks. The Ocean City, Maryland car show is a little better.

I have heard that the City of Wildwood had not given the NJHRA permission to come back this year, citing that the show has become too dangerous and uncontrollable. Have also heard that a lot of the other events in Wildwood will not be returning, stating that the lack of hotels prevents their members to attend affordably. If some of you are not aware, a lot of hotels have been sold to make way for multi-story luxury high rise condominiums in a high price bracket. Oh, that and Sam's Pizza burnt down........ Wildwood is never going to be the same. RIP

Oh here's a link to some info I uncovered.

I doubt they'll cancel it... who cares about dangers when the city of wildwood makes tens of millions of dollars from all the people who attend the car show? money always wins

I live down here and will give you the quick "Cliff's Notes" version of whats going on. The future car shows are still under concern and question in Wildwood though they have announced the Spring show will still be happening they are going to see how things go from there. Alot of people were not to happy with them attempting to cancel the shows also after seeing how much money comes into the city because of it.

So in short yes the spring show is still on. On another note they wont be having the burnout contest and the flamethrowers contest/show like past years becuase of the current parking lot that used to be used for these events has been repaved by the city and the current new burnout block/area (concrete slab) is too small for the needs.

But, alas you are right about the hotels disappearing and new condo's appearing.
